Raising the next generation to become self sufficient for meat in times that the future is uncertain in so many ways. To be able to catch fish or hunt meat and know how to prep it, cook it or preserve it naturally is something we've done since hunter gatherer times; We're keeping this tradition alive. This is a grey squirrel our lad caught, which is not only abundant in the UK but an invasive species which damage woodlands without an apex predator to keep the numbers down, by hunting these animals we are supporting conservation... And our appetite. It's a tender meat that tastes like a mix between duck and chicken
