You want your child to have some extra support. But then you pause. What if tuition teaches things differently to school and just confuses them? 😟
It's a sensible worry. The last thing any child needs is two sets of methods pulling in different directions.
Here's the good news. Our tuition is built to work with school, not against it.
We take our lead from what your child is doing in class. Sometimes that means pre-teaching a topic, so when it comes up at school, your child already has a head start and feels confident.
Sometimes it means going back over something that didn't quite land, filling the gaps their teacher hasn't had time to.
And often it's simply reinforcing what they're learning, so it truly sticks.
The result is a child who walks into their lessons more confident, more prepared, and less lost.
Tuition and school should pull in the same direction. That's exactly how we do it. 🤍

September has a way of arriving all at once. 🍂
One minute you've got weeks of summer left, the next it's the night before term and you're scrambling.
Uniform that doesn't fit, a child who's slipped out of any routine, and that last-minute panic about whether they're ready for the year ahead.
It doesn't have to be that way.
A little planning now takes the stress out of the back-to-school rush.
Easing bedtimes back towards term time. Sorting uniform and supplies before the shops empty.
And if your child needs a bit of academic support, getting it in place early rather than chasing it in week one.
The families who plan ahead don't dread September. They start it calm.
If tuition is part of your plan this year, now is the time to sort it.
Send me a message and we'll get your child set up for a smooth start. 📚😊

With GCSE results due soon, if your teen has just finished Year 11, your mind might already be turning to what's next. A-Levels. 📈
It's a big step up. The jump from GCSE to A-Level catches a lot of students out, and the first few months matter more than most realise.
The good news? You don't have to face it alone.
We have qualified, experienced tutors who specialise in A-Level support, ready to help your teen start Year 12 feeling confident and prepared.
Here's what one Year 12 parent recently shared about their son's chemistry lessons with Jemma:
"My son found Jemma very helpful. She listened to his requests and planned sessions to suit. I would definitely use her again. Thank you."
That's the difference the right tutor makes. Someone who listens, plans around your teen, and helps them settle into the demands of A-Level. 😊
If your teen is heading into Year 12 in September and could use some support, I'd love to help. Send me a message and we'll find the right fit.

Your child is on the quiet side. So when you picture them in a group lesson, you worry they'll hang back, stay silent, and get lost while the confident ones take over. 😟
It's one of the most common concerns I hear. And it makes complete sense.
But here's what often surprises parents.
Group tuition can be the very thing that brings a shy child out of their shell.
In a small group, the spotlight isn't fixed on your child. That takes the pressure right off.
They can watch how others work, learn from the questions their classmates ask, and see that they're not the only one finding something tricky.
That alone is a huge relief for an anxious learner.
And we build trust slowly. We never put a child on the spot if we know it'll make them uncomfortable.
Confidence grows at their pace, quietly, until one day they're the one putting their hand up.
For a lot of shy children, a small group is the gentlest way to grow. 🤍
If you're wondering whether it might suit your child, send me a message and we'll talk it through.

Meet Liam. One of our maths specialists, and a real favourite with his students. 🤍
Honestly, the parents describe him better than I ever could.
Here's what one of his Year 10 parents recently shared:
"She really likes Liam and is upbeat when she finishes her lessons with him so that's all positive in my eyes, thank you! So we are definitely wanting to continue."
That's exactly what good tutoring looks like. A child who enjoys their lessons and leaves feeling good. 😊
If your child could use a hand with maths, whether that's building confidence or getting ready for their GCSE year, I'd love to help.
Send me a message and we'll find the right fit.

Keeping your child's brain ticking over this summer doesn't mean worksheets at the kitchen table. 🤍
The best summer learning barely looks like learning at all. It's woven into things you're already doing.
Let them handle the money at the shop and work out the change. Bake together and let them weigh and double the recipe.
And most of all, keep them reading, even just fifteen minutes a day. It protects their learning more than almost anything.
The trick with reading? Let them choose. Comics, football stats, magazines, whatever they enjoy. If they're reading and having fun, it counts.
Swipe through for a few simple ideas you can start today.
And if you'd like a bit of extra support over the holidays, send me a message about our ad hoc sessions. 📚😊

Every September, children walk into a new year group.
Harder work, new expectations, sometimes a whole new school. 🍂
For a lot of them, it's daunting. The confident ones go quiet. The settled ones come home tired and unsure.
You can take the fear out of it before term even starts.
Our transition sessions give your child a gentle head start. We meet the new work early, fill any gaps from last year, and build the confidence to walk in ready, not worried.
A few sessions now can change how your child feels about the whole year ahead.
Send me a message and we'll get them prepared. 📚😊

Your child sailed through primary. So why does secondary feel so daunting? 🤍
It's one of the biggest leaps they'll make, and even confident children feel it.
The good news? A shaky start isn't inevitable. A few simple things this summer make all the difference.
I've shared them all in our latest blog. 📚
