Is your target market small business owners? Would you like to tell my audience about your product or service?

I am seeking sponsors for my podcast 'Small Business Big Network' which has been running every week since January 2021.

Packages cost from just £99

Acast's research into action driven by host-read podcast advertising found 72% of listeners say they've visited an advertiser's website after hearing a host-read sponsorship, and 62% of listeners said they had made a purchase after hearing a host-read sponsorship, so there's no doubt it works!

If you'd like to learn more do get in touch - my contact details are in my profile.

Louth Naturalists' Antiquarian and Literary Society was established in Louth almost 140 years ago, and later became the charity and a company which runs the town museum.

Louth Museum is an award winning visitor attraction in the historic market town of Louth, nestling at the foot of the Lincolnshire Wolds. There are four galleries, a library and a gift shop. Exhibits include a back-lit panoramic bird’s-eye view of Victorian Louth, rocks and fossils of the Lincolnshire Wolds, the disastrous Louth Flood of May 1920, the story of the Ghost of the Green Lady and the largest national collection of Victorian woodcarvings by Thomas Wilkinson Wallis.

You've probably heard the term 'explainer video' a few times - but what exactly is an explainer video, and why might you want one?

Put simply, an explainer video is a short video (usually under 3 minutes) that explains a company's product or service. They are used for marketing purposes on landing pages, websites and social media.

Explainer videos can take a number of different formats including:

Live Action - real people appear in the video, talking to camera or each other. These work well for companies with a physical product, or a people-orientated service (such as a restaurant).

Animated - these are probably the most popular type of explainer video. They work well for service-based businesses, or where the product is intangible, such as a piece of software. These videos are easy to update if changes are needed in the future.

Whiteboard animation - these are the videos that look like they are being hand drawn on a whiteboard, and are the cheapest of all the explainer videos to make, which makes them very popular. There are even packages such as Powtoon and Doodly that allow you to make these for yourself.

I've provided voiceovers for all sorts of different explainer videos, in many different sectors.

As for why you might want to use explainer videos in your marketing - the statistics are staggering. Here are just a few:

Videos attract 300% more traffic and help to nurture leads. (MarketingSherpa)
A website is 53 times more likely to reach the front page of Google if it includes video. (Insivia)
Including a video on your landing page can boost your conversion rate by up to 80%. (Unbounce)
Video increases organic search traffic on a website by 157%. (Conversion XL)

Are you convinced yet? If you already have an explainer video, is it working well for you? If not - are you going to get one?!

My guest this week on the Small Business Big Network podcast is Heahter Offord of Clarity Consultants.

With over 20 years in business development, sales, marketing, and events, Heather has worked across everything from hospitality to consultancy — but what lights her up most is seeing people go from stuck and overwhelmed to confident and visible, with a clear plan that actually works for them.

At Clarity Consultants, Heather created The Growth Roadmap — a framework that helps business owners step back, understand their business, and build a strategy that feels achievable and scaleable. Whether it’s marketing, sales, analysis, personal branding or simply making sense of their diary, Heather works with them to create clarity and structure so they can move forward.

Networking is the lifeblood of her business and she has lots of good advice around it. Have a listen at www.lizdrury.com/podcast

A great way to create a temporary recording space when away from home is by creating a pillow fort. Or recording in the car!

Advertising on podcasts can be really cost effective. Research by Acast showed that 72% of listeners visited an advertiser's website after hearing a host-read sponsorship, and 62% of listeners had made a purchase after hearing a host-read sponsorship.

Podcast listeners tend to be loyal and trust the host, which probably explains why these figures are so high.

I am now offering sponsorship packages for my podcast, 'Small Business Big Network' from just £99.

If your ideal customers are small business owners then this could be a great way to tell them about your products or services.

Together we can craft a message for me to read out during the podcast, and you'll also get a mention at the top of the episode too, and in social media posts about the episode.

If that's of interest please get in touch and I can tell you more! My contact details are in my profile.

On the 'Come Here!' podcast this week you can hear me talking to Neville Stankley from The Walks of Life Museum, Tuxford, Newark. NG22 0HR.

It's UK's only museum dedicated to the collection of handcarts, and was established in the 1990s by the late Dorothy Harrison. The collection includes wheeled mobility throughout life - from birth, through childcare, work and old age, and in addition to carts the museum also has a comprehensive social history collection. The site encompasses, a historic farmhouse, three exhibition halls, Tuxford's last telephone box, a pick-your-own fruit orchard, and a special wartime exhibition.

Audio guides are possibly my favourite kind of project, so I was delighted to be asked to narrate a tour for the beautiful St Mary Redcliffe Church in Bristol.

The Heritage Development Manager was equally delighted with what I did for them!

If you need a voice over artist for an audio tour for a museum or historic site - look no further!

Or if you know any museum curators you can put me in touch with, let me know 😄!
