🌟Today in our Celebration Assembly, along with congratulating pupils on their achievements in School, we also celebrated some incredible achievements outside school. 🌟
🏎️ Isabella gave a fantastic performance in the Setterington Cup during the Goodwood Revival, securing 4th place on Sunday (out of 68 cars!) and finishing 13th overall across the weekend, improving on her time from last year.
🚴 Our cycling star in Year 4 did brilliantly in a big Cyclo-cross race in The Cotswolds, taking an impressive 2nd place, while our tennis champ has been selected to play at county level! 🎾
👟 Three of our pupils have taken on incredible challenges to raise money for Lymphoma Action. Dressed as characters from The Wizard of Oz, two sisters ran a 10k with their parents, and another pupil completed a 20k over three weeks. Very well done for your support of such a worthy cause!
🏏 In Year 5, one of our students was named Cricketer of the Year by their club, and in Year 6, a budding actor has been cast as Mr. Teavee in the local production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory!
Well done everyone

The children in Year 4 have been busy in our incredible DT workshop designing and making their own puzzles. They are mastering accuracy in measuring and cutting with the coping saw and their work looks fantastic! 👏
Last week, our Year 7 & 8 Senior Prep pupils' Personal Development Programme kicked off with an afternoon of exciting teambuilding activities at the Thames Young Mariners. Problem-solving, decision-making, leadership and collaboration were in abundance as three teams worked together on challenges such as to Save Bob, Cross the Swamp and Beat the Net!
This hands-on session, combined with the pupils' initial self-assessment of their skills and qualities, provided a great foundation for next week's session on Belbin's Team Role Theory where the boys will be exploring the concept of whether the so-called 'Dream Team' really exists
Thank you to our Head Boy for these wise words in this morning's assembly
Play-based discovery and hands-on learning is at the heart of the Pre-Prep experience at Newland House. Today, the playground was buzzing with animated voices as the Year 1 children enjoyed playing with the wide range of resouces available.
🥬It was Forest School for our Nursery children yesterday. The excitement started with the ride in our School minibus, but that was nothing compared to the fun had exploring, building and discovering in the woods.
U13 play their first matches of the season against .
The River Tillingbourne, a 30km tributary of the River Wey in the beautiful Surrey Hills, was the destination for our Year 8 pupils. The boys had a great time collecting data to set up their Geography project

Indoors, Mr Skelton's board games and cards club proved to be very popular, while outside the senior prep football club and the netball club were enjoying yesterday's sunshine
Our thought for the day comes from the first assembly back on Friday. A perfect reminder, as we start the new school year, to be ourselves and find our own brilliance 🌟
What a great start to the football season for our U10 and U11 teams in the 5 a side tournament at Hampton School this weekend. The boys played fantastically and both teams coming top of their groups, and achieving an overall win for the U10 and U11. The U10s even manage to retain a clean sheet. Well done!

What a finale to Year 6! Rivaling a West End show in the scale of the production, the children dazzled with two nights of performances of Joseph and his Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. The songs, choreography, costumes, energy and pace of the performance were incredible. Well done to the whole cast and to all the staff who helped put on such as spectacle, especially Mrs Parton (Head of Drama) and Mr Soper (Director of Music). Chapeau! 🌟
The Year 6 pupils demonstrated their entrepreneurial spirit and creativity during their recent Enterprise Day. Setting the scene, the groups heard from a range of experts who talked on topics such as bring a product to market and finance.
The theme of the day was on creating a small, sustainable business in line with Young Enterprise’s My Money Week, for which the focus this year is on saving money and protecting the planet.
They chose one of three themes Swap Shop, Headlines make fashion and 'Reduce, reuse, recycle' and there were some incredible, inventive and sustainable ideas on show at the final sale at the end of the day!
Courage is one of our school values. Courage isn't just about facing fears, it's also about believing in your own abilities. When children feel valued and safe, they are prepared to take risks with their learning - pupils here learn that giving something a go is more important than getting it right first time, to believe in themselves, work hard and be the best they can be 📚✨
📚It was lovely to welcome so many Pre-Prep parents into the school this morning for our 'book look'. The children really enjoyed showing off all the wonderful work that they have been doing in class this term

Meet our new Head...(for the day)! Winning the prize to spend the day as Head in the auction of promises at our recent Parents' Association Masquerade Ball, our Year 6 pupil took the reins today. He gave a very interesting assembly and even tried to pass a rule of no homework for Year 6!
Thank you to our Head Girl for these words in assembly.
Each child at Newland House is valued as an individual and encouraged to 'be their own brilliant' and discover their own unique passions, interests and talents
✨ Happy World Languages Day! Today, we've been celebrating with a special focus on Greece, the birthplace of the Olympic Games. A fitting theme with Paris 2024 on the horizon.🏛️
From ancient Greeks to modern day Olympians, there have been a whole range of wonderful costumes on display. Lessons have included Greek themes, such as the language and the enduring stories of Greek gods and heroes. The children have also enjoyed a Greek dance workshop.
The Year 2 children had a wonderful trip to Hobbledown today. They watched the birds of prey show and saw a variety of animals, learning about different animal adaptations.
The adventure playground was a highlight and even the teachers had fun on the bouncy pillows!
Year 7&8 enjoying the activities on the North Wales residential trip
🏰Making the most of a slice of history on our doorstep, the budding Year 5 historians spend a day discovering the magnificent Hampton Court Palace last week. Bringing their current topic of the Tudors to life, they explored the palace and even found the carving of Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn's initials in a wood panel in the dining hall. They were particularly shocked to hear all about the roles that children would have had in Medieval times! Thank you Hampton Court Palace for a fun and fascinating day!
