Thank you so much for your support on Saturday at our Summer Fair - the weather was perfect and it was lovely to see so many children enjoying themselves 😁

From a brilliant performance by the school choir to a visit from the London Fire Brigade, not to mention the foam party and all the stalls, activities and fun, it was a day we'll remember for a long time to come 🙌

And a special thanks to all the volunteers who worked so hard to make the event such a success. It simply wouldn't have happened without you 👏

12.00pm – 2.00pm: Inflatables / Stalls / Games - including Bottle Tombola, Jolly Jars, Games Zone, Face Painting, Cricket and Football Fun and Model Railway display 😊⚽️🏏🚂

1.00pm – Choir Performance 🎶🎤

We hope you’ve all heard the amazing news that Nelson Primary School was selected as one of the winners of the ‘River of Hope’ competition in honour of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

We are so proud of this achievement in a worldwide school competition, an achievement that every child in the school contributed to!

The whole world will be able to see our winning design, which has been printed on to silk flags to be displayed along The Mall, during the Queen’s Pageant on Sunday.

See if you can spot the Nelson Primary School design on The Mall if you're travelling up for the pageant or watching along on TV!

Thanks to yesterday’s parking volunteers. It is often a challenge to get enough volunteers to do this valuable help but it so important as it enables us to raise £3000 for a sold-out game at the stadium.

Tonight we said a huge thank you to Mary and Nina, who have been on the PTA for more than 20 years between them.

They have given up extraordinary amounts of their time to the benefit of hundreds of Nelson children, past, present and future and have helped to raise tens of thousands of pounds!

We are truly grateful to you both. So much of the work you did was behind the scenes and your tireless efforts, enthusiasm and passion for everything to do with Nelson Primary School will be greatly missed 🙏👏

A huge thank you to local artist Muriel's Magpie who designed and created these beautiful and totally unique signs for our raised beds. We're sure you all agree they look amazing! 😍😍😍 Each year group now has it's own special place to grow fruits, vegetables and plants as part of our forest school and outdoor area development 🍎🍓🥬🌺🌿🌱

The Year 6 children all had a huge surprise when they arrived at school yesterday- their special Nelson 2021 leavers hoodies had been delivered by the PTA hoodie fairies! Nelson PTA would like to say a huge thank you to Jim and Waka of local business One Stitch Beyond for creating and supplying such great quality hoodies for us yet again 🤩🤩🤩

Well done to Nikhil, Kate, Candice, Katie, Jan, Rachel, Hannah, Nina and Alka for doing a great job running yesterday's Nelson School Car Park for the Premiership final. England are coming to Twickenham on Sunday 4th July and Saturday 10th July and we need more volunteers to help raise money for our school. A big well done to our Year 6s who ran their Mini Marathon yesterday to raise money for their leavers' events. Year 6 did all of the planning, organising and fund-raising themselves. Everyone
