We are very proud of our 2 staff members, who finally graduated today after a 2 year wait!
Very Well Done Laura and Charlotte!
🎉🎉🎉
If anyone can provide anything from this list, please bring it in to nursery next week and we will deliver it to the food bank! Thank you 👍
Huge thanks to all of our families and staff who joined us in the St George's Day parade today, and those who cheered us from the crowd!
Don't forget to come along to the ♥️Whitton St George's Day event tomorrow!
If your child (including ex-nursery children) would like to join us in the parade, you can either bring them along to Nelson School at 11.45 and find us, or simply 'jump in' as we proceed through the High St!
If you are in the crowd, don't forget to give us a big cheer! 👍
Our 'Whitton' Toddlers and Pre-school children have had a lot of fun visiting our new, amazing, nursery setting in Powder Mill Lane (an extention to our Twickenham Day Nursery) this week!
They were able to use our new indoor 'soft play tower' and explore the fantastic garden - and will be able to do so on a regular basis in the future 👍
Our new setting will be fully open for babies and younger toddlers (3 months - approx 2.5 year olds) from next Monday, 11th April.
If you, or any of your family members or friends, are looking for a full time nursery close by, you/they should book a viewing asap as the places are already filling up very quickly! ✅
For those parents and staff who may remember Lizzie, one of our past employees who was our Nursery cook for several years - I am very sad to report that she passed away suddenly and unexpectedly yesterday afternoon, 20th March.
It grieves us all when someone we have loved, known and/or worked with passes away - but Lizzie was also my sister, and a much loved auntie to my 2 sons, Stefan and Matthew, and will of course be sadly missed by her family and friends, including the many freinds which she met during her travels with me around the UK, Europe and Africa.
I will ❤️ you for always Lizzie!
Thank you for your service, and for your loyalty to the nursery and the children and their families!

Matthew Baran (of Barans Removals) and i delivered 100 removal boxes today to the Prosperity Café in Twickenham, who are collecting for Ukranian refugees.
Whilst we were there, Matthew realised that 100 boxes were not enough and will be donating more tonight.
I realised that they also needed more medical, post-maternity and baby supplies.
If you are going shopping this weekend please consider buying something from this list:
Post-maternity mentrual pads, milk absorbing breast pads and/or avfeeding bra for a new mother
Other mentrual pads including boxes of Tampax etc
Bandages of various sizes, wound dressings and any other 1st Aid needs for adults or children, including non-prescription pain killers such as paracetamol, Calpol or antihistamines.
Aksi needed are bottles of ready-made baby formula (NOTly powder) and pouches of baby/toddler food
Nappies and wipes etc.
All donations must be unopened / unused and in their original packaging.
Margaret will take any suitable donations to the local collection point on Monday and Tuesday next week.
Please help if you can!!!
Nelson School are collecting items for Ukranian refugees. If you can donate any of these items please do so.
Matthew Baran, of Barans Removals, will be supplying the neccessary boxes and parcel tape for these to be sent to Ukraine / Poland.
No toys, or normal clothing, will be accepted!
(Please see the list of urgent items needed below, as asked for by another local Ukranian organisation) 👍
In case you missed it...
This is something that all parents (and childcare practitioners) need to remember, whatever the age of their children, or in my own case now, grandchildren!
My child, this is a dance I don't quite have down.
But one I'm trying so hard to learn.
To know when to lead and when to follow.
To figure out when to hold you, and when to push you.
How to guide, while teaching you to navigate.
To protect you, but foster a fearlessness in your spirit.
How to ensure you believe with every fiber of your being that you are enough, while also igniting your passion for growth.
When to support you with a lift, and when to support you with a release.
To encourage you to push for your best, while knowing best is not perfection.
Teaching you to extend kindness and forgiveness, while not tolerating getting stepped on.
Helping you understand that joy comes from nurturing relationships with your people, but that sometimes your soul is best nurtured with nature's stillness.
Maybe you think I should know this dance by now. Maybe you even think I do.
The truth is I'm still a student too.
And I'm far enough into the choreography, to understand I'll probably never really master it.
But you can count on me being out that dance floor giving it everything I've got, for you.
Teaching you these delicate back and forth steps of life, as best as I can.
Sometimes we'll stumble, or get out of rhythm, but the music will always find us again and we'll keep on with the dance.
Together.

Our 'sister' nursery, Twickenham Day Nursery, was filmed by BBC Breakfast today. The feature is about the Duchess of Cornwall's BBC storytime, Mental Health Awareness week and children's literacy.
It will be aired from 8am tomorrow 👍
3 years ago today! It seems like a lifetime ago, due to covid, but I am still very proud of my wonderful staff whose dedication and support for the children and their families made this possible - and our newer staff continue this excellent work!
Winners are Grinners... Nursery Of The Year (South).
A massive thank you to our fantastic staff, parents and friends for your wonderful support over the years. Without you, this photo would not have been possible.
