Countdown to Year 10 Progress Evening

We have shared a form via My Child At School app to support the evening.

🌟 Y10 Progress Evening – Thursday 15th October

We are looking forward to welcoming our Y10 parents and carers to our Progress Evening on Thursday 15th October, from 3.30pm–6.00pm in the Main Hall.

This is an important opportunity to meet with your child’s teachers, find out how they are settling into their GCSE and BTEC courses, and talk about how they can make the very best start to this important stage of their education.

Y10 is a really exciting year as pupils begin working towards their qualifications, and the foundations they build now will play an important part in their future success.

We look forward to seeing you next Thursday and working together to support our pupils to achieve their very best.

🌟 Year 12 Seren Welcome Event! 🌟

Our Year 12 students attended the Seren Welcome Event in USW today, where they were introduced to the exciting opportunities and experiences available through the Seren programme, designed to support and inspire academically ambitious learners to reach their full potential.

👏 We were particularly proud of our Year 13 Seren students, Lilien and Cecilia, who represented our Sixth Form as members of the student panel during the Q&A session, sharing their experiences and insights with the new cohort.

A fantastic start to the Seren journey for our Year 12 students and a brilliant example of our Sixth Form students leading the way! 🎓

🌈 7N enjoyed investigating the Skittles claim ‘that no 2 rainbows are the same’ by deciding how to sort their Skittles, how to record the results and then finally used their results to plot some excellent graphs using SALT, bringing together all the new scientific skills they have learnt so far! 🌈

On 8th October, young people at Treorchy Library took part in the National Literacy Trust’s Guinness World Records attempt to set a new title for most people reading online over twelve hours! During their session, they watched an interview with YA author, Nathanael Lessore, before reading their chosen library books.

☕🌟 HOT CHOCOLATE WITH THE HEADTEACHER! 🌟☕

Another fantastic end to the week celebrating our wonderful pupils!

This week, pupils from Years 7, 8 and 9 were invited to enjoy Hot Chocolate with the Headteacher in recognition of their outstanding effort and behaviour, as well as their confidence and commitment in delivering whole-school assemblies!

We were also delighted to welcome Mrs Freeman, one of our school governors, who joined us in celebrating their achievements.

A huge well done to everyone recognised this week — we are incredibly proud of you all! 🌟
