As we settle into autumn, the children at Casa Montessori are now taking a break. This half way rest during the autumn term is much needed as shorter days bring a new, slower rhythm.

It has been a joy to welcome these friends into the setting and to watch them begin to grow into a wonderful little community 💚

The Whizzy-Dizzy has been a huge hit here!

The children are also managing turn taking through the use of a 2 minute sand timer, communicating to their friend that they are waiting for a turn and respectfully requesting a turn when the sand has run through 💚

What a week!

A week of new friends, new routines and expectations, new activities, finding out we can do it ourselves, trying new things, discovering we can do hard things, feeling sad and then knowing it will be OK, belly laughs, quiet time, mud spreading, play dough making, egg collecting and a million other things! 💚

The children and I have planned what we will do next week and now it’s time for a rest for us all 💤

The reinstatement of the outdoor pool at Dartington will be so great for children and families locally. The team who are organising this are so passionate about making it as accessible and beneficial as possible for the whole community.

Not the easiest to capture in a picture, but this is the newest addition to our outdoor space 💚

Thanks to Earthjump for providing willow for our new cosy den!

I have some lovely visitors coming tomorrow and I'm hoping they will help with the last bit of planting 🙂
