So…the Government is beginning to catch up.
Sorry to say it’s really not looking great….but let’s keep growing our own, buying local and organic, and doing whatever we can!
Keep on keeping on. You make a difference x

Found one of these beautiful Jersey Tiger Moths here yesterday…they used to be seen only as far north as the Channel Isles hence the name but are migrating further due to warmer winters

The farthest north this species used to be seen was the Channel Islands but it is now common in Bedfordshire

June has been a busy month at The Sustainable Garden with courses and workshops focussing on how to increase wildlife and biodiversity.
Our beautiful wildflower meadow is in its prime and is buzzing with native bees, butterflies, crickets and bugs while dragonflies and damsels dance over our nature pond.
Proud to be working alongside the community initiative Moor Meadows, dedicated to bringing back these endangered habitats and with the well respected ecologist John Walters

Spring has finally really sprung and summer is just around the corner!

Here at The Sustainable Garden the wildflower meadow is growing inches each day and the Ragged Robin are just coming into flower.
In the old orchard the apple trees have lots of blossoms, our hedgerows are full of May flowers and the rough grass full of periwinkles and violets.
In the potager the first salads are doing well and the chives and allium companion plants starting to look wonderful!

There are still some spaces on our 3 June course if you would like to learn ways to garden that supports and increases wildlife and see how good biodiversity levels on your land helps you garden well without the need for chemicals.

See our website for course details: www.thesustainablegarden.com
