We encourage proper conversations.
We encourage listening to someone else’s point of view without immediately reaching for the pitchforks.
We encourage:

Even when it wouldn’t work for you.
Even when you’d make a completely different choice for your own family.
What we don’t do is bullying.
We don’t do cliques.
We don’t do whispering in corners, freezing someone out, or making somebody feel like they’ve walked into a room where everyone already has their seat and they’re the spare part.
If you come to one of our groups on your own we will always make space, because nobody should spend two hours standing awkwardly at the edge of a home ed meet-up wondering whether they’re allowed to join in.
You’re going to meet people from all walks of life, with different families, different opinions, different approaches and different experiences.
You might find your people.
You might meet someone you’d never normally cross paths with.
You might have a conversation that changes your mind.
Or you might still completely disagree at the end of it.
Just don’t be a dick about it.

We're not a big company, it's just us. A home educating family who saw something missing and decided to create it. We've invested time and money into this without grants or funding and we hope you are going to love it just as much as we do!
We have big plans for HEDHub as it grows.
One of our long term goals is to create a community fund that can provide financial support to home-ed families, individuals and businesses when they need it.
And as HEDHub grows and we need more help behind the scenes, we want to create paid employment opportunities for people within the home-educating community — keeping as much of that support, investment and opportunity within our community as possible.

Throughout the Summer Hols, we'll still be holding our FREE social coffee mornings for home educating families. In August, we've got some extra special guests joining us to give insight into what they do, and how they support the home ed community.
On Tuesday 4th August, we'll be joined by Gemma Marshall Wellbeing & Mindfulness at CantinaGoodrington from 10am - 12pm
On Wednesday 12th August, we'll be joined by Anita from Lighter Learning CIC and The Craft Barn, Coldridge at Puerto Lounge in Exeter.
We hope to see familiar and new faces ✌🏻

Have you ever not gone to a group because you were worried you or your child would be judged?
Maybe you were concerned someone would ask if your child was autistic, ADHD, vaccinated, unvaccinated, academic, currently unschooling, "behind", "ahead", tech friendly, or no tech?
Maybe you even wondered whether you'd fit in because you prefer to say home school, and someone else says home education.
It's bloody exhausting, isn't it?
With us, you don't have to explain or defend your choices.
You don't have to think the same as everyone else. You don't have to parent the same. You don't have to educate the same. You might not agree with someone's choices, and that's okay. None of us have lived their life or walked in their shoes.
What matters is that we treat each other with kindness.
Because when we stop judging and start listening, that's where the home ed community really begins. 💙

Gorgeous morning at CantinaGoodrington for our monthly home ed coffee morning.
We had 2 compliments from by-standers saying how lovely the kids were playing, and how organised we all were (we laughed after they left - clearly we gave off a great illusion 😂)
