We are growing caterpillars, so this week we enjoyed The Very Hungry Caterpillar activity and explored our emotions through The Colour Monster story. The children had lots of fun taking part in creative activities inspired by both books and were excited to learn about caterpillar life cycles and different feelings. ๐๐ฆ๐จ๐

What we do as childminders is help prepare your children for school, something often called โschool readiness.โ
But what do you think school readiness really means?
Is it learning to hold a pen? Writing their name? Counting to 10?
Those things can be helpful, but true school readiness is so much more than that.
School readiness is about children feeling confident to try new things, learning how to share and take turns, building friendships, and expressing their feelings. Itโs about developing independence, putting on their coat, washing their hands, choosing activities, and learning to solve little problems.
Itโs also about curiosity, imagination, and a love for learning through play.
At the heart of school readiness is helping children feel secure, capable, and excited about the next step in their journey.
Because when children feel confident, valued, and supported, the learning naturally follows. ๐ฑ
