Please be aware that a lorry has broken down on the roundabout by Royal Mail, so it may be easier to take a different route into school this morning. Thanks

We are very excited about the start of our new academic year this week.

The staff team have been busy preparing classrooms and the school ready to welcome everyone back for another year of great learning and achievements.

We look forward to welcoming our latest Year R pupils tomorrow morning. School gates will be open between 8:30-8:45am for the start of their first ‘Bug school’ school day. For those children who are only attending part time, please collect your child at 1pm, after they have enjoying a Year R community lunchtime. For those Year R pupils staying a full day in school, the school day ends at 3:10pm.

On Friday we look forward to welcoming all of our other pupils back into school, along with several other new children and their families who are also joining our school community this year.

Year’s 1 - Year 4’s drop off time (as detailed in the parent letter sent out at the end of July) is between 8:40am and 8:50am. Years 1-4 who are not attending enrichment provision, finish at 3:15pm.

Further information will be sent out through School’s Buddy tomorrow (Thursday).

Kind regards

Dear parents,
Thank you for flagging up that there is a glitch on the School’s Buddy system as it is not allowing Year 1 parents to book onto enrichment classes, and is also limiting the breakfast club dates which can be booked.

Please be assured that there are enrichment classes for year 1 and dates for breakfast club beyond 30th September. I am getting the office to look at this now, as I don’t have access to checking or amending Schools Buddy.

Please be assured I will make sure Year 1 get equal access to the classes and that other breakfast club dates are available.
Apologies in the meantime for any inconvenience caused

Regards Mrs Weeks

Sadly today we were advised by Public Health England to close one of our class bubbles, due to our first positive Covid case.
We have prided ourselves on not having to close any bubble so far, so today’s events are very sad for all concerned, especially as we were so close.
However, as always, parental support has been amazing, and has meant a lot to us all. Thank you everyone.

Happy Monday everyone. Here is to wishing our Bishop Chavasse hero’s of this pandemic- the children and parents who have embraced home learning over the last year, a fun and restful half term.

World Book Day this year is on the 4th of March. This year we are asking the children to dress up as their favourite hero, either fictional or real life.

One activity we have planned is to ask our school community to support us with a community book walk. We are asking local residents to display their favourite book in their window, so our children and families can go out on a book walk around the local area.

More details of the different activities we have planned for your children will follow once we are back next week.
