Sampford Peverell Ballroom Dancers

Well it's been a long time since we had anything to report. However, a few of us are getting together at The Globe Inn in Sampford Peverell for a drink and a bite to eat this coming Thursday at 7.00pm. It has been so long since we saw each other it would be smashing if as many people as possible can make it. so far Liz, Mike, Jen, Denise, Anthea, Denise and myself are going. Merry Christmas dancing friends. It seems so long since we were last together dancing and laughing, not realising what a devastating year lay in front of us. It has been a tough year, but there is hope that with the new vaccine coming we will be able to meet up once again. This Christmas will not be like any we have had before, but people are hanging on to the simple things to keep themselves going. Dance seems to be a sharing activity and is much missed, but this Christmas make the most of those simple things like a mince pie and a bottle of sherry and it won't be long until we are together again - friends who love to dance. It will be a hugfest when we see each other again. Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year to you.

Hi fellow dancers and friends, how are you all holding up?
It seems such a long time since we last met up, but as the legend Dame Vera Lynn sang - 'We'll meet again, don't know where, don't know when'. We know where we will be, we simply don't know when. However, we will get back to normal at some stage and won't it be a wonderful occasion when we have our first dance lesson after the lockdown! I have added a photo from a few years back at our Hollywood Ball. Keep safe. See you soon'ish

Update: Terry is not going to open the hall for practice on a Tuesday.
We will let you know as soon as we can start up the group again.
In the meantime if you look at you tube you can find different dances to practice, it's not the same as our wonderful Heather, but it will help to keep us fit while we are isolated. If you find it a bit boring try dancing female if you are male and male if you are female. Then when you next see Heather and Liz you can tell them how brilliant they are to switch like they do.

Hi fellow dancers and friends,
In line with government recommendations on dealing with the coronavirus, there will be no more dance lessons till further notice.
However, for the next 2 weeks, Terry will be opening the hall for an hours practice if you want to go along.
As soon as we can resume our dance lessons we will let you know.
In the meantime, keep safe and healthy and like Vera Lynn often sang - We'll meet again!

Don't forget we have another brilliant dance lesson with Heather tonight at 7.00pm. Huge thanks also go to Humphrey, Liz and Mike who are such lovely people and have the patience of a saint. They are like the emergency services - if they see a problem and Heather is tied up, they fix it! Thank you for helping us be the best dancers we can.. and we are pretty good!!
