The children have settled beautifully into their new classroom, exploring their environment, making new friendships and getting to know the routines of Upper Pre-School.

This week, our focus has been "all about me", with the children creating self-portraits, talking about their unique features and celebrating what makes each of them special. We've also enjoyed a visit from the library bus, our first yoga session of the term and a wonderful return to Forest School, where the children explored nature, searched for insects and played games with their friends.

Alongside all of this, the children have been busy building, creating, practising their names and enjoying plenty of outdoor play.

Our babies have had a lovely week exploring all things space! 🌟

Throughout the week, the children have enjoyed a variety of activities designed to encourage exploration, creativity and sensory development. From colouring planets and space pictures to exploring lights, stars and sensory bottles, there have been lots of opportunities to discover new colours, textures and sounds.

The children have also been busy developing their fine motor skills through puzzles, block play, painting and messy play activities. We especially loved our large-scale floor painting, where the babies explored different colours and even rolled balls through the paint to create their own masterpieces!

Of course, we made the most of the fresh air too, spending lots of time in the garden enjoying the slide, vehicles and outdoor play.

Our toddlers have had another wonderful week full of fun, learning and exploration!

This week we’ve enjoyed lots of sensory and messy play, from exploring cornflour gloop and splashing in a soggy dinosaur swamp to feeding hungry dinosaurs and fishing in the jungle. These activities help to develop fine motor skills, language and imagination while encouraging children to explore the world around them.

The children have also loved spending time outdoors, playing with friends, building tall towers, enjoying the mud kitchen, practising turn-taking on the swing and getting active in the garden.

To finish the week, we got creative in the kitchen, making our own magic wand treats with chocolate and sprinkles – a very tasty way to end a fun-filled week!

It's been a fun-packed week at Charles Booth Pre-School☀️

Our Holiday Club children have been enjoying a seaside-themed week filled with a bouncy castle, designing their own ice creams and exciting water fights to help keep cool in the sunshine.

Meanwhile, our pre-school children have been busy developing their problem-solving and motor skills through hands-on play. By experimenting with pipes and ball runs, they explored concepts such as gravity and momentum, worked together as a team and discovered how changing the height and position affected the speed and direction of the balls.

A lovely day in Forest School 🌿

The children enjoyed helping to build a campfire and exploring the outdoors as they searched for blackberries. These hands-on experiences encourage curiosity, confidence and a connection with nature, while creating memories that will last long after the day is over.

Just a few snapshots from our Stick Man themed Forest School session at Holiday Club 🌿

The children had a wonderful time exploring the outdoors, using their imaginations and bringing the story to life through nature-based play. From collecting sticks and natural treasures to enjoying adventures in the fresh air, it was a fantastic day of learning, creativity and fun.
