SEPTEMBER 2027 ADMISSIONS - BOOKINGS OPEN SOON!
We’re excited to share the full dates for our Stay & Play Tours (September–October) and Parent Tours (November). These sessions are designed to give families a real feel for our Early Years environment - the spaces children learn in, the routines they follow, and the warm, nurturing atmosphere our team creates every day.
Bookings open on 1st September 2026 and will be available online.

On 12th August 2026, a solar eclipse will take place, giving us a wonderful opportunity to explore the wonders of space and astronomy.
Did you know? Our school is named after Francis Baily, the astronomer who explained the famous phenomenon known as "Baily's Beads".

A WONDERFUL END TO ANOTHER FANTASTIC SCHOOL YEAR
What a fantastic Year 6 Leavers' Assembly!
As the only time our whole school comes together, this special event is always a highlight of the year. We celebrated our amazing Year 6 pupils, reflected on their achievements, shared memories and wished them every success as they move on to secondary school.
We are incredibly proud of each and every one of them and know they have bright futures ahead. Good luck, Year 6, you will always be part of our school family!

LEAVERS PARTY
Year 6 enjoyed a red‑carpet welcome as they celebrated their time at Francis Baily and all the memories they’ve made with a festival themed party.
A huge thank you to our Year 6 parents who organised and ran the entire event. Your hard work made tonight truly unforgettable for the children. A wonderful finale for our Year 6s.

These sessions are a great opportunity to explore our Early Years spaces, meet the team, and get a feel for life at Francis Baily.

YEAR 5 GREEK DAY
Greek Day magic in Year 5 yesterday. Helmets on, costumes out, and lots of excited faces. A brilliant way to make history real.

OPENING NIGHT: GROSSBUSTERS!
Our Year 6s are backstage and buzzing for the first night of their leavers’ play, Grossbusters!
Curtains go up at 7pm, and we can’t wait to see them bring all their hard work, humour and brilliant characters to the stage.
If you’re joining us tonight, get ready, they’ve put together something special.
Year 6… you’ve got this!

HEATWAVE MATHS
Lunchtime got a lively upgrade today as Miss Tucker turned maths practice into a mini heatwave cooldown for our Year 1 and 2 children. Armed with quick‑fire sums and a very enthusiastic hose, she quizzed the children and every correct answer earned a big cheer and a burst of water sprayed high into the air. Lots of giggles, lots of learning, and a perfect way to stay cool while keeping those number skills sharp.
Our new favourite game? Splash & Solve - guaranteed smiles every time!

GOVERNANCE MANAGER VACANCY

We're currently recruiting for a Governance Manager to join Equinox Learning Trust, the multi-academy trust of which Francis Baily is part of.
This is a flexible, varied and influential role, working closely with Trustees, Members, school leaders and Local Governing Bodies to support effective decision-making and help strengthen governance across the Trust.
Your experience doesn't have to come from education. We welcome applications from those with governance experience in the charity, legal, company secretariat, public or wider regulated sectors.
If you're highly organised, proactive and confident working with senior stakeholders, we'd love to hear from you.
