Welcome back to Lord Williams’s!

We’re kicking off the new school year with the first Headteacher’s Weekly video of 2026–27.

Mr Dimbleby has a few words to welcome everyone back, with a special welcome to our new students and their parents and carers joining the Lord Williams’s community.

Return to School – September 2026

We look forward to welcoming students back to school this week!

A reminder of the arrangements for the start of term:

Thursday 3rd September – Years 7, 10 and 12 start

🔵Year 7: Please be at the Sports Hall for 8.25am for a brief welcome. Students will then go with their tutor to collect their timetables and Knowledge Organisers (KOs), before having a tour of the school.
🔵Year 10: Students should go straight to their new Tutor Room at the start of P1.
🔵Year 12: Students should go to Thame Leisure Centre by 8.15am.

Friday 4th September – Years 8, 9, 11 and 13 start

🔵All students should go straight to their Tutor Room at the start of the day.
🔵Year 7 will have an Assembly, please line up outside the Sports Hall in your Tutor Groups.

Uniform
All Year 7–11 students are expected to be in full school uniform, including blazers and ties.

Tutor room information
Timetables should now be available on EduLink so students can view their tutor room. Our Senior Leadership team will be on hand to meet and greet students and will also have tutor room information available.

LORD WILLIAMS'S STUDENTS CELEBRATE EXCEPTIONAL GCSE RESULTS

The staff and Trustees of Lord Williams's School would like to congratulate our Year 11 students on achieving some exceptional GCSE and BTEC results.

Neil Dimbleby, Headteacher said: “I am absolutely thrilled for our Year 11 students; some excellent results were achieved and they all deserve huge congratulations. They have worked hard for their achievement and can now enjoy this moment. There are a huge number of wonderful stories of individual success among these results.

For the vast majority of this year group we are excited to be welcoming them back into our successful Sixth Form to continue their studies. For those who leave Lord Williams’s School to pursue other options, we wish them all the very best for their futures.

My thanks must go to the staff for all their hard work and commitment to this cohort of students. I would also like to thank parents and carers for their ongoing support of our young people.”

It is noteworthy that the pass rate in both English and Mathematics is over 80% this year, well above the national average.

GCSE Results & Sixth Form Registration Day – Thursday 20th August 2026

Results Day is almost here! We’re wishing all our students the very best and hope you receive the results you’ve been working towards.

GCSE results will be emailed to students’ school email addresses at approximately 8am on Thursday. Results will also be available to parents/carers via Edulink later in the day.

Sixth Form Registration

If you receive a ‘Confirm Your Place’ letter, you have met the entry requirements for your chosen courses and can confirm your place online – you do not need to come into school.

You will need to come into school if you receive an ‘Enrolment Discussion’ letter or if you would like to change your subject choices. External students joining the Sixth Form will also need to attend school to enrol in person.

It’s Results Day!

Our Head of Sixth Form, Mr Wilson and Headteacher, Mr Dimbleby, have been speaking about today’s results and celebrating the achievements of our Year 13 students.

It’s been a brilliant day at Lord Williams’s, with lots of hard work and dedication paying off.

Huge congratulations once again to the Class of 2026.

Congratulations to our Year 13 Class of 2026 on their exam results.

We are incredibly proud of all our Sixth Form students and the hard work and commitment they have shown.

31 students achieved three or more grades at, or equivalent to, A* or A, and the vast majority of students who applied to university have already secured a place at one of their chosen destinations.

A huge thank you also goes to our teaching and support staff, and to parents and carers, for the encouragement and support they have given our students.

Well done to everyone in the Class of 2026. We wish you all the very best for whatever comes next.

We can't wait to welcome Year 13s in from 9.00am today to celebrate and collect your results!

We are currently aware of an IT issue affecting the distribution of results by email. Our IT team is working hard to resolve this as quickly as possible.

In the meantime, all results are being uploaded to EduLink. Please keep checking EduLink, as results will appear there as the uploads are completed.
