The name “not just notes” came from something I like to say to my pupils: “don’t just play notes, play music”. After all, the sounds that can sooth our minds and break our hearts are far more than something that can be contained or expressed on paper. A musician has the power to make the written notes come alive, to tell a story and to move the emotions. That’s why we can sometimes express in music what we can’t in words, or play with a warmth that can’t be written down 💛✨
