🤔What is a masterclass?
A masterclass is a one or two-hour session, focusing specifically on a GCSE question paper. During a masterclass, I walk through the paper step-by-step, discussing assessment objectives and how to achieve them. Each session is tailored specifically to the individual, meaning any gaps in knowledge can be addressed along the way. Masterclasses are perfect booster-sessions to get students feeling exam-ready!🤓

After studying Stave One of A Christmas Carol, I wanted students to consider the symbolism used in the text (such as the oyster) and how this foreshadows Scrooge’s eventual redemption arc. To do this, I asked students to come up with their own symbol which could be used to foreshow a character’s positive change in a story. I was so impressed with the ideas they came up with and the attention to detail in their explanations! 🦪🌷💎

Planning for next week’s sessions. My new GCSE student will be developing their language analysis skills through various scaffolded tasks, working on their understanding of connotative words. 🤓💻📕

I’ve decided to host some last minute group and 1-1 online tuition sessions during the second week of the Easter holidays, for any year 11s who need that extra push before exam season.💪

I am a fully qualified English teacher with both teaching and in-person/ online tutoring experience. I currently teach the AQA specification, having previously taught WJEC/ EDUQAS. I also have experience tutoring a range of exam boards. 🖊️

1-1 sessions will be at a discounted rate of £20 p/h and will be fully tailored to the needs of each student.

Group sessions will be at a discounted rate of £10 p/h. Below are the dates, times and what will be covered in each session.
