We would like to say a huge thank you to all the employers who provided work experience placements for our Year 10 students last week.
Our students have had an incredibly successful and rewarding week, gaining valuable insight into the world of work while developing new skills, confidence and aspirations for the future. They experienced a wide variety of industries
and roles, from aerospace to zoology and everything in between, helping them to explore potential career pathways and understand the opportunities available to them.
The feedback from students has been overwhelmingly positive, with many returning inspired by the experiences they have had and the professionals they have worked alongside. We are extremely grateful to every organisation that
welcomed our students and helped make the week such a success.
The support of our local businesses and organisations plays a crucial role in preparing young people for their futures, and we sincerely appreciate the time, guidance and encouragement given to our students throughout the week.
A particular thank you goes to VEPA and
Transicon for welcoming students as part of this year's hybrid work experience programme.
From cutting-edge manufacturing to engineering innovation, they have provided students with a unique insight into exciting career opportunities and helped showcase the fantastic industries and employers we have right here in Telford.
Their enthusiasm, expertise and commitment to supporting the next generation have made a lasting impression on our students, and we are incredibly grateful for their involvement.
Thank you once again to all of our employer partners for helping to make this year's Year 10 Work Experience Week such an amazing success.
π¬Mrs Hughes said:
"Work experience is a vital step in helping our Year 10 students bridge the gap between education and employment, giving students opportunities to discover their strengths and gain a real understanding of the world of work. These
experiences can inspire ambitions and help shape future career choices."

β½π A Proud Moment for Burton Borough School & Newport! πβ½
We were delighted to officially open our fantastic new 3G Pitch on Friday, marking an exciting milestone for both our school and the wider Newport community.
This incredible facility has been made possible through a successful partnership between Telford & Wrekin Council, the Premier League, The FA, the Football Foundation, The Learning Community Trust, and local partners. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped bring this vision to life. π
The launch event brought together partners, supporters, staff, students and community members to celebrate this special occasion, with our students taking centre stage by showcasing their skills in a series of football matches on the new pitch. β½π
The new 3G Pitch will provide outstanding opportunities for PE lessons, training sessions, competitive fixtures and community sport, benefiting both our students and local clubs for years to come.
This is more than just a pitch, it's an investment in the future of sport, health and community engagement in Newport, and we couldn't be prouder to be part of it. ππ
A huge thank you to everyone who made this project possible!
