Fully equipped, affordable, community music rehearsal and music workshop space. ‘The Cave’ is a community music project in Teignmouth.

The Cave is for creative musicians of all ages to use. We have high ambitions to vastly improve the quality of the bands coming out of the area by offering a high quality affordable rehearsal space. We have amps a PA and drum kit so if you don’t drive or dont want to transport amps we have most things you will need. At The Cave there will be instrument lessons, master classes, basic instrument car

e and repair workshops. Opportunities to learn more about musical equipment, how to improve live sound, how to achieve good recordings. Advice on promotion & marketing
We will also help link musicians through open mic evenings and jams. Feel free to place an add for free on our musicians wanted notice board. The name ‘The Cave’ is an apt name for the project as it was the second single release from Teignmouth band Muse and the name will be a reminder of what can be achieved and something for new bands to aspire to!

The Board of the Eastcliffe Community Company (charity no: 1150567) are seeking a treasurer to join us in overseeing The Cave music project.

The Cave is a community music project in Teignmouth, South Devon which aims to provide music rehearsal space, recording facilities, advice and encouragement for users of all ages. It currently offers 2 fully equipped rehearsal spaces and has run workshops for a wide range of ages. We are embarking on a new phase of the project in which we aim to expand our offering within the community.

While a love of music or being an active musician would be beneficial this is not a requirement for the role. There are currently 3 other board members.

This voluntary position is an integral part of the organisation. The Treasurer is one of the Trustees and will participate in all company discussions and decisions. The Board of Trustees meet up to 6 times per year at the Cave, Teignmouth, but communicate regularly via email and whatsapp at other times. You will ensure that the organisation’s financial practices are reviewed regularly to safeguard its financial position, and have the enthusiasm to move the charity forward.

Applications of interest should be made via email to [email protected] and are to be received by 28.02.2026.

The members of the Cave Board wish to share the news that Robin Brown has made the decision to step down from his voluntary day-to-day involvement with the Cave Music Project.

Since 2011, Robin has been the public face and the engine behind what we do. Whether he was managing rehearsal bookings, ensuring the gear was ready to go, putting on gigs, organising workshops or simply being a friendly face offering encouragement and advice, his dedication has been integral to our success. Robin, thank you for everything you’ve done to keep the music playing in Teignmouth.

Robin will still use the Cave as a venue for workshops he puts on as a self employed music practitioner, including his regular 'Silver Sessions' which he runs on a Monday.

The Road Ahead

For the immediate future, the Cave will continue to be managed by us, the voluntary board. Our goal remains the same: to grow this project and support local music. We have some exciting ideas and plans in progress and look forward to sharing these with the community as they are confirmed.

Bookings & Contact

Rehearsal bookings can be made in the same way as before. You can reach us via:
