Goat goes to Playwam… I mean, playgroup! 🙂
We are looking forward to welcoming all our Playwam families, both old and new, for our new school year, starting from Monday 7th September.
If your little ones are feeling nervous, stories can be a wonderful way to talk about feelings and experiences. If you can, walk past the hall and point out the front door, where you’ll enter each morning, helping your child begin to become familiar with their new learning environment. See you soon!

We had great fun making ice creams and ice lollies, to use in our own ice cream shop! We’ve been taking turns being the shop keeper or customers!
Last Friday, we had a very special treat of a REAL ice cream shop and, after snack time, we were able to buy a vanilla ice cream in a cone! 🍦 Some of us had a go at scooping and serving the ice cream to our friends - it was tricky!!

A wonderful story about Billy, a boy who asks for a bucket for his birthday! But, you must never, ever, borrow Billy’s bucket!!
The children loved listening to this story, re-telling it using plastic sea creatures and buckets, “buying”different buckets (all shapes, sizes and colours) from our very own Bucket Shop, and making their own front covers (mark making and name writing) 🪣 What can you see inside your magical bucket?

This half-term our main topic has been “Summer” - transport (We’re all going on a summer holiday), the seaside and under the sea, sun safety and, of course, ice creams!! We’ve shared lots of lovely Summer stories and books!

Thank you Dr. Sarah for visiting us and helping us to learn about your job, as well as how to keep ourselves healthy. We especially loved seeing all the items in your doctor’s bag and giving some of the equipment a try on our friends and the dollies! 🩺

Transport survey!
We went on a short walk, and recorded the different makes of cars parked along the road! We have lots of car experts, at Playwam, who are very interested in the different make and colours of cars! When we got back to Playwam, we carefully counted up the number of tally marks in each row and spoke about what we noticed. 🚙
Working together, following instructions, communication and language, road safety, observational skills, mark making, knowledge and understanding of the world around us, maths… SO much learning through following our children’s interests and providing fun, real-life learning experiences! 🚗
