It was lovely to be back St Andrews Church yesterday for our end of term service. Each year group shared some memories, Foundation celebrated Mrs Down with a song, the choir sang and House Captains shared readings and prayers. Thank you to lots of parents who helped us walk up and stayed to celebrate! Also thank you to Charlotte, Emily and Carrie, who have all treated the staff to delicious treats over the last week!
The end of another school year has come around and we all can take a breath and reflect. To our Year 6 children, we wish you all the best, a restful summer and good luck in your new schools. We say goodbye to both Mrs Syrett and Mrs Down. We know that many parents and families will miss them both but as a staff team, we are saying goodbye to two amazing colleagues and friends that have been a core part of Whitchurch's DNA for so many years. Their impact cannot be measured. Together we wish them both all the best for their next adventures. Finally, to you, our amazing families. Stay safe, have a fun summer and we look forward to welcoming you back in September.

Year 6 - what can we say!! You smashed your performances today!! In your final week of primary school, we all remember how amazing you are and how hard you've worked!! Here's to a fun couple of days with probably a few tears on the side!

Well Carnival day was a great success as Whitchurch won Best in Procession. Big thanks to all who helped in the run up particularly Nataliia, Lisa, Heather, Emily, Mary and Rachel and all the children and parents who took part with such amazing costumes! It was great fun and we are already looking forward to next year!

Tonight was the first edition of the Year 6 Vs Staff rounders match!!! The trash talk had been started earlier in the week and Year 6 had been getting the practice in PE. The staff were rusty but feeling confident! It ended up as a win for the Staff team this year!! Well played Year 6. Year 5 - you better get practicing!!
Reminder that tonight is Open Evening. You can come along between 3.15 and 5 to see your children's work and chat to their teacher. You can also meet your child's new teachers too. The Year 1, 3 and 6 teams are doing chats for new parents too in the respective classrooms. Year 1 at 3.30, year 3 at 4.30 and year 6 at 4. We hope to see lots of you there!

Well done to our girl's cricket team who represented us brilliantly at the Devon Cricket Finals last week. They won all their group games to progress to the finals but sadly lost by ONE RUN in the final match. Excellent teamwork all day. Thank you to all the parents who helped get us there and provided constant water bottle refills on such a hot day!
Last week also saw us attend the Quad Kids finals in Tavistock. Our teams competed against other local schools in sprints, distance run, throwing and long jump.
Year 3/4 - Finished 7th
Year 5/6 - Finished Second
Special mention to George L in Y6 who was first overall and George H who was third! Great performances.

We had a great afternoon for Transition today!! Year 2 enjoyed their transition with Mrs Gray yesterday but were so busy making their crafts, that we forgot to take photos!! Sorry!!

Foundation enjoyed Forest School with Carrie today. We went on bug hunts and then enjoyed a refreshing dip in the stream. Thank you, Carrie!
