Year 3 had an amazing time with Carrie this morning in Forest School, cooling down in the stream being a highlight!
The children have been coping amazingly in the hot weather, with plenty of extra drinks breaks and pauses when necessary!! As a staff team, we thank you for your support in making sure the children have sun cream applied, sun hats and water bottles! Here's hoping some of us sleep tonight!!
Dear Parents and Carers,
With the extremely hot weather forecast for this week, we would like to make a few temporary adjustments to help keep the children comfortable and safe while at school.
Children may wear their PE kit to school throughout the week if they would prefer, rather than their usual school uniform. This is entirely optional, but we hope it will help them stay cooler during the warmer temperatures.
Please also ensure that your child:
Has sun cream applied before coming to school each morning
Brings a sun hat or cap to wear during outdoor activities.
Brings a full, clearly named water bottle each day so they can stay well hydrated.
We will continue to encourage regular water breaks and will take appropriate measures to minimise time spent in direct sunlight during the hottest parts of the day.
Thank you for your support in helping us keep everyone safe and comfortable during the hot weather.

Despite a murky start to today, Year 1 have had a fabulous time at Wembury beach today. We've enjoyed splashing in the sea, having a picnic and finding the 'Wembury Big 5' during our rockpolling session. Thank you to all the adults that helped us!
🍎✨ Happy Thank a Teacher Day! ✨🍎
Today, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to the incredible teachers and teaching assistants at Whitchurch Community Primary School.
Every day, our staff go above and beyond to inspire, challenge, nurture and support our children. Whether leading learning in the classroom, providing individual support, encouraging confidence, or helping children overcome barriers, they make an extraordinary difference to the lives of our pupils.
At Whitchurch, we are proud of the strong relationships our teachers and teaching assistants build with children and families, and of the care, commitment and enthusiasm they bring to our school community each day. Their dedication helps make our school the warm, ambitious and inclusive place that it is.
To all our teachers and teaching assistants – thank you for everything you do. Your hard work, kindness and unwavering belief in our children make a lasting difference, and today we celebrate you.
💙 Happy Thank a Teacher Day from everyone at Whitchurch Community Primary School.

Amazing cricket results yeaterday!!
The girls were triumphant in the Dartmoor Cup - excellent team performance with accurate bowling, great catches and big hitting! They were all really supportive of each other and are now through to the Devon finals!
The boys did brilliantly all day to finish joint first in the cup. Great teamwork and sportsmanship were on display from them all as well as cricketing skills! Sadly, they missed out on going through to the finals based on runs scored.
Well we finally got Sports Day in!!! Well done to all the children who took part today and a special congratulations to Orange Team for winning the Fair Play trophy and the Green Team who were today's winners 💚 We also say a huge thank you to Mrs Syrett for running her last Sports Day here at Whitchurch after doing an amazing job for the last 27 years! Try and get a few pictures for you next week!!🏆⚽🏃🏃♀️🏅
