YEAR 2 BRING THE SUNSHINE INDOORS! 🎶☀️

What a fantastic summer concert! Our wonderful Year 2 children filled the hall with smiles, happiness and brilliant music as they sang their hearts out and impressed everyone with their ukulele playing 🌈🎸

We also loved the fantastic performances from our KS1 Choir and Ocarina Club, whose renditions of Just Can't Wait to Be King and Baby Shark had the audience smiling from start to finish! 🦁🦈

A huge well done to every child for their confidence, enthusiasm and amazing musical talent. Thank you to all the families and friends who came along to support them – it was the perfect way to celebrate a wonderful summer term! 💙👏

BACK TO THE 90S! 🎤🎶

Our KS2 Summer Concert had everyone singing along as our amazing pupils brought the biggest hits of the 90s to life!

From Wonderwall to a show-stopping finale of Three Lions (complete with boomwhackers and a Mexican wave! 🙌⚽), the evening was packed with music, energy and smiles.

A huge well done to all of our performers, including our choirs, Steel Pan Band, Recorder Club and talented Year 6 ukulele players. Your confidence, teamwork and musicianship were outstanding! 🌟

A big thank you to our staff and families for supporting the children and helping to make the evening so special. We couldn't be prouder of our young musicians! 💙🎵

A ROAR-SOME PERFORMANCE FROM YEAR 1! 🎶🐾

Our Year 1 concert, themed 'Animals', was packed with fantastic singing, confident speaking and brilliant musicianship! From insects and mammals to fish and even dinosaurs, every performance was full of energy and smiles 🐝🐠🦁

A huge well done to our KS1 Choir and Ocarina Club, with Baby Shark proving to be a crowd favourite! 🦈👏 The concert ended in spectacular style with an amazing rendition of Eye of the Tiger, complete with our talented glockenspiel players 🎵🐯

We are so proud of every child for their hard work, courage and enthusiasm and a special thank you to Mrs Hope for her dedication in making the concert such a success and our wonderful families for watching the show! 🌟💙

ORCHESTRA PERFORMANCE ✨🎻

On Monday 6th July, our incredible School Orchestra took to the stage and absolutely shone! 🌟

The event began in style as our young musicians made a grand entrance, walking down a red carpet dressed in their finest outfits, ready to wow the audience. ❤️🎶 Performing in front of a crowd isn't always easy, but our talented children played with confidence, enthusiasm and huge smiles, filling the room with beautiful music. Every note reflected the hard work, commitment and teamwork they have shown throughout their rehearsals.

We were just as proud of their wonderful behaviour as we were of their fantastic performance. They supported one another every step of the way and represented our school with kindness, confidence and pride 💙

👏 A massive well done to every member of our School Orchestra – you were all amazing! We couldn't be prouder of everything you've achieved.

KS2 CHOIR SUCCESS! 🎶

We are incredibly proud of our KS2 Choir, who entered the Somerset & Dorset Schools Choir Competition 2026 early in June.

As part of the competition, the children recorded two contrasting pieces: Roar by Katy Perry and Kusimama by Jim Papoulis. Kusimama is a Swahili word meaning “stand tall” – a message the choir certainly embodied in their performance!

We are delighted to share that the choir won the Most Active Action Song award. As well as this fantastic achievement, they have also been awarded a £100 prize for the music department.

A huge well done to all of the children involved for their enthusiasm, teamwork and confident performances – you should be very proud of yourselves! 👏🎤

MUSICAL THEATRE STARS 🎶🎭✨

Our talented Year 6 pupils have recently had an amazing day preparing for their end-of-year production, Grimm – Once Upon A Musical, with Somerstage - Musical Theatre School 🌟

The Somerstage team visited us at Parkfield and worked with our principal cast on their scripts, before leading a fantastic singing workshop focused on projection and harmonies 🎤🎵 The day finished with an exciting acting workshop where all Year 6 pupils explored characterisation, stage presence and confidence-building techniques 🎬👏

Both staff and pupils had a brilliant time and the excitement for the performance is definitely building! We can’t wait to see our Year 6 stars shine on stage in just a few weeks’ time 🌟🎭

A HUGE thank you to Somerstage Musical Theatre School for visiting us last week and for providing such a memorable and inspiring experience for our children! 💙

SCHOOL CLOSURE NOTICE - WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY🌡️

Due to the Red Weather Warning and forecast temperatures of up to 40°C, we have made the difficult decision to close the school on Wednesday and Thursday this week.

After carefully reviewing the latest forecasts, guidance and all available options, we believe the extreme heat will make it difficult to maintain a safe and comfortable environment for pupils and staff. The health, safety and wellbeing of our school community remains our highest priority.

We currently expect to reopen as normal on Friday, subject to weather conditions and official guidance.

Further information has been sent to parents and carers by email.

SPORTS DAY FUN! 🌞 🏅💦

What fantastic Sports Days we had for EYFS, Year 1 and Year 2! The sun was shining, the smiles were huge and the children amazed us with their energy, teamwork and determination all day long 🌟

Our children took part in lots of exciting activities, showing off their brilliant throwing, jumping and racing skills. From beanbag challenges and sprint races to the always-popular sack races, there was laughter and cheering everywhere you looked! 👟🎉 One of the biggest highlights was definitely the water obstacle races – full of splashes, soggy feet and giggles from start to finish! 💦😄

Families loved cheering the children on as they raced, balanced and worked together in their teams and we loved welcoming the youngest members of our Parkfield family for the adorable toddle races. Their tiny steps and big smiles made the perfect ending to a wonderful day!

A huge WELL DONE to all of our amazing children for showing such fantastic sportsmanship, confidence and enthusiasm. We are so proud of you all! 🏆👏
