📢 Free School Meals Eligibility is Changing
From 1 September 2026, there will be changes to Free School Meals eligibility.
There will be two categories:
• Targeted — households receiving Universal Credit with annual earnings of £7,400 or less
• Expanded — households receiving Universal Credit with annual earnings above £7,400
Children in the Expanded category will receive Free School Meals only and will not attract pupil premium.
Current Free School Meals awards will be rechecked automatically. Families who may qualify under the new criteria should apply from August 2026 onwards.

Important: When placing your order, you need to select collection from the Plymouth Store. Although this option says Plymouth Store, these orders will be grouped together by the supplier and delivered to Bishop Fox’s School — not collected from Plymouth.
Once you click the update button in the calculate shipping section, an option should appear to allow pick up from the Plymouth Store. Please select this option if you would like your order delivered to school.

🎓 Brilliant Club Scholars Programme Graduation
Last week, some of our students visited the University of Bath to celebrate their graduation from The Brilliant Club Scholars Programme.
Students have been working on the programme and the visit was a fantastic opportunity to recognise their hard work, commitment and achievement.

⚓🚤 Water Sports 2026 Trip
Last week, students enjoyed an incredible Water Sports 2026 trip in Platja d’Aro, taking part in an action-packed programme of kayaking, snorkelling, giant paddle boarding, windsurfing and sailing.
Throughout the trip, students developed new skills, made the most of the fantastic conditions on the water and showed brilliant enthusiasm, teamwork and determination.
After busy days of activities, students also had time to relax by the pool, enjoy well-earned dinners and take part in daily awards ceremonies.
The trip ended with students safely arriving back on British shores in Dover, before completing the final leg of their journey home across the UK.
A huge well done to everyone involved for their positive attitude, teamwork and unforgettable achievements along the way. 👏

☀️ Summer Savings Reminder
A reminder that the Great British Summer Savings scheme is available until 1 September 2026, helping families access a range of summer activities for less.
The scheme includes savings on:
• Children’s meals in restaurants
• Family tickets to cinemas, theatres, concerts and exhibitions
• Entry to participating attractions
During August, children aged 5 to 15 in England can also benefit from free bus travel.

Non-Uniform Day Reminder
A reminder to parents/guardians and students that Friday 17 July will be a non-uniform day.
Students should come to school in clothing that is suitable for the school day.

🏆 Annual Awards Evening 2026
Last Thursday, we were delighted to host our Annual Awards Evening, celebrating the achievements, effort and commitment of students across Bishop Fox’s School.
The evening included Tutor Group Awards, Subject Awards and Individual Awards, recognising students who have shown academic excellence, determination, positive contributions and commitment throughout the year.
A huge well done to all award winners, and thank you to our students, families, staff, trustees and guests who helped make the evening such a special celebration.

Year 10 Work Experience
One of our Year 10 students, Milosz, recently completed work experience with , gaining hands-on insight into the world of metalwork, welding and fabrication.
The photos show some of the practical skills explored during the placement, including working in a fabrication workshop and creating finished metalwork pieces.
A big thank you to Taunton Fabrications for supporting our students and providing such a valuable opportunity to experience a real working environment.

Year 10 Work Experience
Leon Westlake, Louis Phillips, Wylie Jones and Dean Slatter recently took part in the Young HPC Work Experience Week.
We were delighted to receive such positive feedback, with the students described as polite, engaged and enthusiastic throughout the week.
A big thank you to Young HPC for welcoming our students and providing them with such a valuable opportunity to gain insight into the world of work.
Students interested in future opportunities are encouraged to sign up to Young HPC so they can be notified when applications open for the 2027 programme.
