From WMPC Cllr Alan Chapman: "Another productive session
With yet another lovely period of weather we were at it again this morning in the Community Garden. The boys all turned up again and helped me make a start on the wildlife 'mansion'. We started off by building a brick base to form the shape of the hedgehog house and then placed pallets, lined with twigs, branches and leaves, on top. Each floor will hopefully attract various types of wildlife to seek shelter and maybe build nests - the mouse was spied again 😀 There's still a few finishing touches to do, including lining the top pallet with porous material and compost, so we can plant alpines to create the 'rooftop garden'!

Khloe and Matilda have now started their bronze Duke of Edinburgh award and, as part of the volunteering section, will be helping out in the garden for the next few months. This morning they planted out the first of this seasons lettuce seedlings with Maggie and chatted about the other things they'd like to do - they're keen to put their artistic skills to use by decorating the shed 😀
