A music improvisation workshop with Spanish students for Elac Study Vacations, using the Kobranie method, resulted in this fabulous piece of music. The music is made using body percussion, a table and chairs.

A guided improvisation workshop, using the Kobranie method, for delegates from BouyguesUK. Nothing is rehearsed, it's in the moment music and only works when the participants really work together, listen to each other and use their creativity to create something fabulous.

What a lovely group of people. I did a Kobranie (guided improvisation) music workshop with a Parkinson's UK group in Wincanton. The whole idea behind this workshop is that everybody can play music. Everyone contributes, there is no judgement, we are making the moment music. And what a beautiful piece of music it was! There are multiple benefits of drumming and making music for people with Parkinsons. It improves motor skills, develops muscle tone, and stimulates brain functions. Dopamine and serotonin levels go up, making you feel good. Playing music in a group can decrease stress levels and reduce anxiety. And last but not least, it’s just plain good fun!

I am now a certified provider of improvised music using the Kobranie method. Based on the idea that everyone can make music, this is a playful and accessible musical form in which improvisation, ensemble playing and creativity are central. The focus is on 'creating without judgement', so that everyone feels the freedom to try out new ideas. The ‘conductor’ creates a common language through gestures. Every gesture invites musical play, so that instant compositions are created from conducted improvisation.
In addition to having fun with making music, this also provides the opportunity to discover hidden talents. Talents that may have already been there, but never had the time to be unlocked.

Summer of Play at Stourhead National Trust. Junk Percussion (build your own drum kit), a brilliant giant marble run, crafts, and much more. The weather was great, everyone loved it.

I've been giving body.percussion workshops for ELAC (English language courses for foreign students) this summer. Nice mix of nationalities: Italian, Chinese, Palestine, Azeri, Spanish, Japanese, Mexican. I learned some fun rhythms from them as well 🙂.

Two days of drumming and gumboot dancing for three year 1/2 classes of St. Mary’s CE Primary School in Yate. Culminating in a performance to parents. The children received a standing ovation! At the end of the day one little girl, Ayla, showed me the drawing she made. She loved the drumming sessions.
