On Monday, Mrs Griffiths did an assembly on PEACE.

The older children were paired with the younger ones to discuss what they thought PEACE was and what they wanted.
Woodpeckers did their Science project on the playground today.

Shadows and Sun.

The photos are really good and they don't do their work justice.

They had fun drawing round each other on their circle and as long as they kept still then the outline looked like them.

What do you think?
Fun Friday for Buzzards today and they shared some of their afternoon with Owls.

Here are some photos of them watching a programme while waiting for their hot chocolate. They definitely deserved it today.
Red Nose Day at Kingston St Mary Primary School.

What a fun day, the children came in various forms of outfits from sports stars to harry potter wizards, to spidermen, supergirl, wonder women, batgirl, army personnel and nurses.

Some children even came dressed as their mum, dad, sister, nanny or instructor from a club they go to.

You'll see from the photos that they all made an effort. Some were just brilliant.

They were all welcomed into school by 'Bee D Hero' who buzzed them all in and collected their money for Red Nose Day.

Have a great weekend everyone.
Tomorrow is RED NOSE DAY

What Superhero do you want to be on Friday for Red Nose Day.

Who's your superhero?

My outfit is sorted - I think you'll all be surprised, I definitely thought outside of the box this time.

Let your imagination flow, after all, it's your 'SUPERHERO'.

The only thing that's different to this message:

YOU DON'T NEED TO BRING YOUR PE KIT, PE WILL BE DONE IN YOUR SUPERHERO OUTFIT.
UPDATE: REMINDER - Please can we now have the Bicycle check forms in by tomorrow (Friday 18th March) for YEAR 6.

Please hand them into the school office.

Thank you
Don't forget everyone to start thinking about what Superhero you want to be on Friday for Red Nose Day.

Who's your superhero?

I've been sorting mine out today and you'll never guess what/who I'm going to be?

Find things around your home that you could use to help you design your costume.

You can sew it, glue it or just tie things together. Your imagination is what's needed. After all, it's your 'SUPERHERO'.

REMINDER - Bring your PE kit into school on Friday wearing your Superhero costume.
PE for Owls and Buzzards on Friday was acting out being robots.

Miss Storey was amazed how real these robots were being.

Watch below and let me know what you think.
Friday's After School Gym Club with Miss Storey.

This video is amazing, two gymnasts trusting each other doing a tank roll.
Friday's After School Gym Club with Miss Storey.

Great balancing going on and learning to trust their partner.
PE for Owls today was acting out being toys again.

I think they're being robots.

I distinctly heard the music to Toy Story from where I was.
Reception was able to enjoy the play area yesterday afternoon.

Donning their coats (although some did come off), they enjoyed the delights of balancing and working together as a class.

Although from the group photo, they don't look happy but I've had it confirmed that they were all having fun.

The kids had a fab day today breaking the rules.

They also had a visit from Santa in the school hall.

Very interesting looking adults (teachers, TA's and office staff) dressing up for the festive day.

Christmas lunch was enjoyed by all, festive music, crackers and being served by the staff.

Did I forget to mention two naughty reindeer throwing snowballs at everyone.🤣🤣

They focused on Hockey. They had some great techniques and some great shots.

Photos from Kingston St Mary CofE Primary School's post 05/12/2022

Buzzards PE last Friday saw them also working hard on catching but they had to work extra hard to keep their teammates out of jail.

Film night - Friday 2nd Dec

Thank you to our PTFA who organised and gave their time on a Friday night to bring the children together for the film night.

Hot Dogs, Popcorn and Juice added to their enjoyment of watching 'The Polar Express'.

Dodgeball last Thursday at Blackbrook Pavillion.

Year 6 pupils enjoying a Dodgeball Tournament.

With no referees, as well as to have fun, there was an emphasis on them being honest and having good sportsmanship.

They did themselves proud with their balance of competitiveness and fairness.

Well done to all who took part.

Mrs Colombet has been working with Woodies.

This is a message from her.

They have been enjoying writing and introducing themselves to their French penpals.

Their letters should go this weekend and I know that their French counterparts will very much appreciate this anticipated Christmas present!

Photos from Kingston St Mary CofE Primary School's post 02/12/2022

As part of this term’s Ancient Greek topic, Woodies spent a morning yesterday immersed in Design & Technology activities.

First, they sampled some of the Mediterranean delights Ancient Greeks would have consumed, such as bread, olives, salad vegetables & cheese.

Then, they constructed simple Ancient Greek sandals from leather & cork.

I've also attached some photos from their Greek day as well -

Mrs Phelps said "We are really enjoying researching our Groovy Greek topic and learning all about who they were, how their civilisation developed, the gods they worshipped, where and how they lived, what they ate, etc. We were transported back in time to Ancient Greece for the day, thanks to 'Portals to the Past', who brought this historic era to life"!

They all looked as if they enjoyed both days of activities.

Miss Storey took Gymnastics club last Friday and they were working on the bar.

They practised squat on to bar, forward circles, casts and some back circles as well.

Buzzards - They looked at controlling a ball with their feet. Some great skills on show by all.

Miss Storey thought she had a new 'World Cup Team' in the making!

Buzzards also loved playing the Pudsey Pie throwing game for PE on Friday, making a den in the hall and working on their throwing skills at the same time.

Buzzards also went outside looking for Pudsey Bear cards hidden around the school.

Photos from Kingston St Mary CofE Primary School's post 21/11/2022

Woodies PE on Friday was wanting to play the Pudsey den game that they remembered playing when they were in Owls.

They then went outside and carried on their invasion game unit.

Owls loved playing the Pudsey Pie throwing game, for PE on Friday, making a den in the hall and working on their throwing skills at the same time.

Everyone wanted to be Pudsey and get a go to be in the den.

The work experience students played a game with the children 'Pudsey Bear Says'.

I have to confess that I haven't been reliable in putting up PE photos straight away in recent weeks and Miss Storey doesn't always take photos as PE can be full on.

These are photos of Buzzards -

Buzzards practised their under arm throwing, looking at throwing for distance accuracy and height.

They also practised their over arm throwing with left and right hands.

Cross Country - Monday 14th November 2022

What a fabulous turnout from a school that had an inset day.

Thank you to the 11 children and parents who turned up for their respective cross country races at Kings College.

They all did amazing!

I was so busy taking photos that I forgot to line them up to start and they started off at the back. My fault for their slower race times, although a few of them did run faster than their last race in September.

Those that didn't, I will take the blame for that.

Apologies for the quality of photos or lack of them. So focused on watching them run that I forget to press the button to take photos.

Buzzards

Please can you start bringing in an 'Odd Sock' for an art project next term.

Please put the sock in a bag with your name on it. These will be kept in the classroom.

Reminder:

Cross country today at Kings College for all those that have signed up.

First race is at 4.15 for year 3/4 and then year 5/6.

Wear appropriate clothing and footwear, it will be muddy and wet.

See you all there.

Good afternoon

I've had a phone call this afternoon to say the road is closed going through Kingston St Mary due to a big hole in the road.

You will need to divert through Nailsbourne to get to the school.

Don't panic if you're going to be late picking up your children, they'll be safe here and we'll let them know what's going on if you are late.

If anyone comes across any update on the road situation after you have received this, please let me know and I can update everyone.

Kind regards

School Office
