Night-Time Sleep Is Rest Assured For New Mums
THE North-East London & Essex operation of Night Nannies, the overnight childcare agency that has proved a lifeline to many new mums in desperate need of sleep, has a new owner.
Already a successful venture in central London since 1999 (and other areas throughout the south-east), the idea was the brainchild of former TV journalist Anastasia Baker, who found dealing with her two small children in the night, and then having to get up and go to work the next morning almost impossible.
She called dozens of nanny agencies asking for a Night Nanny, but none of them could help her. Undeterred, she decided to start her own agency, firmly believing that new mums would benefit from this kind of help in the first difficult months after their babies are born.
The local branch of Night Nannies is run by mum-of-two Hannah Santana who says that parents in the area are crying out for overnight childcare. She is currently taking bookings and enquiries from expectant mums due in the next few months.
Other services offered include help with sleeptraining, routine, weaning advice, settling babies with colic, multiple births and troubleshooting (for children over 6 months old).
The Night Nannies on Hannah’s books have been recruited from a variety of backgrounds including nannies, doulas, breastfeeding experts, maternity nurses, troubleshooters and sleeptrainers. They all have relevant qualifications, criminal record checks, first aid training and have demonstrated a wealth of experience in dealing with newborn babies. All of them have experience of dealing with twins.
