Hot weather update....

I am writing to inform you that the school will have to remain closed tomorrow, Thursday 25th June.
As a school we always try to avoid closure. I understand the impact that it can have on pupils and families.
This decision has been made following careful consideration of the following factors:
• A significantly reduced number of teachers and support staff are able to attend, largely due to childcare challenges arising from the closure of other schools.
• While we explored the possibility of combining classes, the extreme temperatures mean we do not have sufficient large spaces that can be kept adequately cool and safe for students and staff.
We appreciate that this may cause inconvenience, and we are grateful for your understanding as we prioritise the safety and wellbeing of our school community.
I will communicate with you as early as possible tomorrow to confirm arrangements for Friday.

Year 6 SEND transition day....Update

Year 6 students that were due to visit us for the SEND transition day Thursday 25th June, please hold firm for a rearranged date.

Message from Mr Nye regarding Year 11 leaving ceremony

Good Morning

I am very sadly writing to inform you that in light of the extreme weather, especially the forecast for Thursday, the school has taken the decision to cancel the scheduled Year 11 Leavers Ceremony.
I am very disappointed that we will not be able to formally celebrate the pupils' successes as we would have wished.
The school will distribute the awards that have been earned by the young people next week and publish the winners' names.

Warm Weather....

As the week progresses and the temperature rises it is vitally important to stay hydrated, we have refillable stations and if needed water is available to purchase from the canteen.

Ice Lollies are also available from the canteen.

Music Showcase Update!!

Please be aware that the time for the year 7 showcase has now changed. The Show will now start at 6PM

AQA unlocking potential social action project

The boys completed their Social Action Project and delivered sporting activities to students at Westrop School. They raised awareness of exercise and good mental health. This was a real success. The feedback from the teachers was extremely positive, highlighting how engaging and well-run the sessions were. As a result, the boys have been invited back to deliver further sessions.

Break time menu updates!!

Take a look at the new breaktime menu that will be going live Monday 11th May! The catering team have lots of exciting new products for you all to try offering lots of variety at break time as well as lunch time.

Enterprise club at the May day!

We had another extremely successful May Fair. The students did us incredibly proud. We also had a fair few students from school performing in the local dance group as well!!
