My childcare setting 'Shining Glory is a home away from home for the children in my care. I am an Ofsted registered Childminder based in Swanley (Kent). I am married with three children ages 11, 9 and 5. Our home has large front and rear gardens, giving us plenty of space and opportunities for a variety of fun and educational activities inside and out. I am following the current EYFS (Early Years
Foundation Stage). I provide high-quality, personalised childcare in which children can be individuals, thrive, and learn a variety of skills. I am a firm believer in the use of music in all areas of Early Childhood Development and beyond and you will often find us listening to and making music. I love to get the children out and about into the community with regular visits to children centres, soft play, parks, Library etc. I pride myself on creating a safe and nurturing environment for the children in my care. It is important to me that children feel safe and valued and I like to work closely with families to ensure smooth transitions and routines remain as close to those that you have at home as possible. I am a highly qualified childcare practitioner with over 10 years of experience in Early Years. I have worked in Large Nursery settings for some of the leading childcare providers. This enabled me to gain lots of fantastic hands-on experiences and whist I enjoyed my time there , I decided to move into Childmindinh after the birth of my third child. Being a Childminder gives me the freedom to really tailor my curriculum and activities to the children in my care and their current needs and likes. I have always had a passion for learning about Child development and am constantly looking to further my knowledge to gain current and useful know-how in Early Years Education, I have just concluded a degree in Early Childhood Studies from which i obtained a 1st Class honours. Being a parent myself, i fully understand how difficult it can be leaving your child and choosing the right person or setting to look after your child/ren.
