Rosie Valandro in Australia was a winner in our National Stationery Week Recycled Envelope Competition but due to the seriously expensive postage costs of getting her donated prizes to her, we arranged to send her the money to the same value so she could go on a spending spree! Here's what she did ... "My parcel arrived today! I chose Happy Birthday stickers, A Corner punch with a choice of 3 designs, PET washi tape and 3 ordinary washi tapes, two writing paper pads,
Chiseled highlighters, Two stencils, one sheet of clear rubber stamps, card and two washi tape storage boxes.(The other one is in my stash ready to be filled.)

Thank you SO much for all that you did for me so I could receive my Prize money Marjorie.
I had so much fun picking and choosing what I wanted online. I am one very happy camper!

Just about enough time left in the day to get in a shout out for "Le Quatorze Juillet" - July 14th, the French National Day and honour our French followers! Fireworks will be going on by the Eiffel Tower tonight! There's already a little word quiz in the summer edition of Rainbows but as it's a special French Day, and summertime too - let's take a look at some famous French seaside towns.... where we would all like to be at the moment in the heat!
Un-jumble these well known French seaside towns and tell us the answers - BUT - each resort has an extra letter ... just to make it a little bit more difficult! When you've got all the extra letters, those too will make another very well known resort. See how you get on!

Did you know that there's a special day to celebrate Rat Catchers?! You learn something new every day, don't you! It's on June 27! Who remembers reading/hearing the story of the Pied Piper of Hamelin in school? The most famous Rat Catcher of them all!
We couldn't find any penpals in Hamelin itself but there's several in Germany who would like to hear from someone in the UK. Who wants to send a postcard/letter to one on 'Rat Catchers Day?!' Make them smile at the story! And you might find yourself a new penpal - just from sending a surprise postcard too!

June 21 - longest day of the year ... and also National Seashell Day! It's time to walk barefoot on the sand and admire the beauty of shells, Nature's little gems left behind by sea snails and molluscs. Grab your bucket when you are by the seaside and fill it up. The seashells are waiting for you! I've always been fascinated by shells and have collected some from all over the world. Here's my collection .... RESULTS FOR THIS YEAR'S "RECYCLED ENVELOPE" COMPETITION FOR NATIONAL National Stationery Week BACK IN MAY......

We sent all the entries to Sarah and Molly Laker who run their two stationery shops in Cheshire and organise the whole Exhibition at The Design Centre in London, and asked them to be the judges for 2026. Here's what they said ....

"Thank you so much for sending the envelopes to us and for the opportunity to take part. We found it really interesting to judge and there were some really strong entries. We especially loved the ones that mentioned National Stationery Week and the ones with hand drawn illustrations!

In the end it was quite difficult to make a decision so we ranked them 1-6 (with 1 being our favourite). I think number one pipped the hand drawn one to the top spot because the envelope dated from 1992 and we couldn't believe the commitment! Attached is an image with the number rankings for you and Congratulations to everybody!"
