🌟 This Week’s Classroom Themes 🌟
Our children have some exciting story and topic themes to explore this week through continuous provision.
🏺 Year 1 will be exploring an Egyptians theme.
🗼 Reception will be inspired by the story of Rapunzel.
🐐 Nursery will be enjoying activities linked to The Three Billy Goats Gruff.
We’re looking forward to a fun and creative week of learning.
🌟 Continuous Provision in Action 🌟
This week, our children across Nursery, Reception and Year 1 have been fully engaged in a range of purposeful continuous provision activities.
🪥 Nursery children explored healthy living by practising cleaning teeth, making healthy soups and salads, and creating patterns on hearts, developing fine motor skills and early mathematical thinking.
🍪 Reception children enjoyed activities inspired by The Gingerbread Man. They decorated gingerbread figures, made gingerbread Play-Doh, rolled dice and added counters to a ten frame, and decorated gingerbread men using rice outdoors, making the most of the snowy environment.
❄️ Year 1 children explored winter learning by finding ice outdoors and decorating puddles with paint. They also took part in a range of literacy and maths activities, including reading tricky words and matching them to pictures, building number bonds using cubes, and playing dice-based games.
It has been wonderful to see such enthusiasm, creativity and independence in learning across the school.

🔢 Year 6 Maths: Place Value in Decimals 🔢
Year 6 have started the spring term by using counters to deepen their understanding of place value in decimals. This hands-on approach has helped the children visualise and reason about tenths and hundredths as part of their maths learning.
A great start to the term with focused, practical learning.
