Coding club success in the Astro Pi competition...
This term, members of Coding Club took part in the Astro Pi Competition, developing their Python programming skills to create digital artwork inspired by the ocean. Using combinations of red, green, and blue (RGB) values, students coded and designed colourful images that were displayed to astronauts aboard the International Space Station (ISS).
As a special memento of their achievement, participating students received a certificate confirming the location of the ISS at the exact moment their image was displayed in space.
A huge well done to all the students who took part for their creativity, dedication, and enthusiasm throughout the project!

Fun Fridays during this half term have been a real highlight across the school, bringing together students and staff for a series of energetic and competitive activities that have boosted morale and strengthened our sense of community.
A particular standout has been the range of staff versus student challenges. While the students have performed brilliantly overall, it’s fair to say the staff brought an unexpected level of competitiveness to the events! Activities such as tug of war, volleyball, and 'Beat the Keeper' created plenty of excitement, laughter, and some closely fought moments right up to the final whistle.

As part of their Crime and Punishment unit in PSHE, Year 9 students welcomed PC Clark and a local PCSO into their lesson.
Students had the opportunity to bring their learning to life by engaging directly with serving police officers, asking a range of thoughtful and insightful questions. Discussions focused on laws, local crime issues, how crimes are reported, and the important role the police play within the community.
The visit provided valuable real-world context to classroom learning and encouraged students to think critically about crime, justice, and community safety. We would like to thank PC Clark and the PCSO for taking the time to share their experiences and answer students’ questions so openly and honestly.
