✅ Officially at full capacity for personal training & online programming

🙌🏻 HYBRID TRIALS Series 01 was a huge success.

👀 Hybrid Trials was only the beginning… there’s more coming.

🙏 Thank you to everyone who’s supported me along the way.

What a great way to end a fantastic week.

I’ve just got back from a few days away and for the first time in a long time, I actually had chance to switch off and reflect.

Looking back over the last couple of months, it’s amazing how much has happened.

HYBRID TRIALS Series 01 was a huge success and I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who got involved.

The support, effort and feedback honestly exceeded anything I expected, and there’s still plenty more Hybrid Trials content to come, so keep an eye out.

The best part?

Hybrid Trials was only the beginning.

Seeing how well it was received has given me even more motivation, and I genuinely can’t wait to share what’s coming next.

I’ve got plenty planned over the coming months, and I’m excited to keep building opportunities that get more people involved in hybrid training.

There’s something else I’m really proud to say…

I’m now officially at full capacity for personal training and online programming based on what I can realistically deliver on my own.

If you’ve already messaged me, enquired recently or we’ve spoken in person about coaching, don’t worry, your place is secure! Just drop me a message and we’ll get everything started.

To every client I’ve coached, both past and present, thank you.

Anyone who’s a full time self employed personal trainer knows it isn’t always easy. There are quiet periods, moments where you question yourself and times where you wonder if what you’re’re building is actually going to work.

Every recommendation, every referral, every session, every social media share and every bit of trust you’ve placed in me has helped me get to this point and I genuinely don’t take that for granted.

I’m incredibly grateful for where things are today and I’m even more excited about what’s next.

This is just the beginning.

Thank you all 🫶🏻

WORKOUT 04 — LEADERBOARD

Workout 04 tested capacity.

Not one single quality but the ability to combine everything that had been tested throughout Hybrid Trials.

👉🏻 Engine
👉🏻 Hybrid Strength
👉🏻 Resilience
All in one workout.

Every round demanded sustained output, strength endurance, pacing and the ability to continue producing effort once fatigue had already accumulated.

And that’s what capacity is.
The ability to sustain a high level of work whilst continuing to produce output.

Wherever you finished on the leaderboard, well done 👏

You showed up.
You tested yourself.
And that is exactly what Hybrid Trials is all about.

Workout 03 – LEADERBOARD

Workout 03 tested resilience.
Not the ability to produce one big effort.
Not the ability to lift the heaviest weight.

The ability to continue performing effectively as fatigue and discomfort steadily increased.

Every round became more demanding.
👉🏻 More calories.
👉🏻 More thrusters.
👉🏻 More fatigue.

The challenge was maintaining performance as the workout became increasingly difficult.
And that’s what resilience is.
The ability to continue performing when fatigue and discomfort begin to build.

Wherever you finished on the leaderboard, well done 👏
You showed up.
You tested yourself.
And that is exactly what Hybrid Trials is all about.

Sometimes the win isn’t a PB.
Sometimes it isn’t a podium finish.
Sometimes it isn’t even the result.

Sometimes the win is simply refusing to stop when everything in you wants to.

What we often think is our limit usually isn’t.
What feels like the end is often just the point where things start to get difficult.

Most people never find out what they’re truly capable of because they stop at the first sign of discomfort.

And when you keep going anyway, you learn something.
About your fitness.
About your mindset.
About what you’re truly capable of.

The final workout of Hybrid Trials Series 01 is here.

WORKOUT 04 — CAPACITY:
The ability to perform a large amount of work whilst maintaining output.

– Workout 01 tested Engine.
– Workout 02 tested Hybrid Strength.
– Workout 03 tested Resilience.
– Workout 04: How much of all three can you express simultaneously?

Capacity is the ability to sustain a high level of work across multiple movement patterns whilst continuing to produce output…

This workout combines rowing, strength, pushing, squatting, step-ups and repeated Assault Bike efforts into one continuous test.

The challenge is not just to move quickly.
The challenge is maintaining performance whilst fatigue accumulates and the demand of the workout remains constant.

Every round contains:
- Aerobic demand
- Strength endurance
- Muscular fatigue
- Pacing decisions

The Assault Bike remains the final challenge of every round.
Every calorie matters.
Not because it looks good on the leaderboard.
Because every calorie earned removes one second from your final score.

SCORING
Score = Total Time - Total Assault Bike Calories
Every Assault Bike calorie earned removes 1 second from your final time.
Lowest score wins.

Example:
Workout Time:
36:40
Total Assault Bike Calories:
85
85 Calories = 85 Seconds
Final Score:
35:15

TIME CAP
Athletes who do not finish within the 40 minute time cap will record:
40:00 + Remaining reps converted into 1 second per rep remaining.

Example:
Athlete reaches Round 4 and has 20 Box Step-ups remaining when the cap is reached.

Score:
40:00 + 20 Reps = 40:20
For athletes reaching the time cap, Assault Bike calories will still be deducted from the final score calculation.

Every calorie matters.

This is the culmination of everything Hybrid Trials has been building towards.

Engine.
Hybrid Strength.
Resilience.
Now it’s time to put them all together.

Let’s do this.

Continuing to break down what each workout has been testing.
WORKOUT 02 — HYBRID STRENGTH

Workout 02 wasn’t designed just to test who could lift the heaviest weight.
It was designed to test Hybrid Strength.

The ability to express maximal strength and strength endurance whilst still producing output under fatigue.
The Strict Press tested pure upper body strength.

One lift.
One question: How much force can you produce?

The Back Squat challenged athletes to commit to a genuinely difficult load and continue producing force under increasing discomfort.

For many athletes, the opening set of 15 reps was where the workout was won or lost.
Go too light and your score suffers.
Go too heavy and the rest of the workout quickly reminds you why this wasn’t just a strength test.

Then came the BikeErg.
After heavy lifting and accumulating fatigue.
Four minutes to produce as much output as possible.
The average BikeErg distance across all athletes was 2030m.

Hybrid Strength isn’t just about what you can lift when you’re fresh.
It’s about how much strength you can express and how much output you can still produce once fatigued.

Workout 02 wasn’t an engine test.
It wasn’t a resilience test.
It was a test of Strength + a test of aerobic output.
That’s Hybrid.

As we head into the final workout of Hybrid Trials Series 01, I thought it would be interesting to break down exactly what each workout has been testing.

Every Hybrid Trials workout has been designed to test a different quality of fitness.
Although every workout contains elements of strength, endurance and resilience, each one places greater emphasis on a different quality.

Workout 01 tested Engine.
The ability to sustain output over time without a significant drop in performance.

Using the Assault Bike and Walking Lunges, athletes were challenged to:
- Maintain cardiovascular output
- Manage fatigue
- Make smart pacing decisions
- Continue moving efficiently once fatigue had accumulated

Some interesting numbers from Workout 01:

🔥 Average Male Assault Bike Score: 256 Calories
🔥 Average Female Assault Bike Score: 178 Calories
⏱️ Average Finish Time: 27:09 (male and female combined)

Workout 01 wasn’t about maximum strength.
It wasn’t about resilience under escalating fatigue.
It was about sustained output.

The question was simple:
How much work can you produce in 20 minutes and how efficiently can you keep moving afterwards?
