🌟 Welcome to our Proud Station! 🌟

We love celebrating the amazing things our students achieve!

Our Proud Station is a special place where students can bring their work, share what they’ve been working hard on, and celebrate their successes. Whether it’s a fantastic piece of writing, a beautiful piece of artwork, a brilliant piece of learning or something they’ve worked really hard to achieve, we want every student to feel proud of themselves and their progress.

It’s all about building confidence, recognising effort and celebrating the little wins as well as the big achievements!

Let’s celebrate together! We encourage all our students to share their successes, big or small, and take a moment to recognise just how far they’ve come. Every achievement deserves to be celebrated!

Our Year 11 Geographers had a fantastic time putting their fieldwork skills into practice whilst surveying the River Meden at Perlethorpe! 🌍

Students thoroughly enjoyed getting into the river, collecting data and experiencing Geography beyond the classroom. Their behaviour, enthusiasm and teamwork were exceptional throughout the day, and they were a real credit to the Academy. We are incredibly proud of them all!

Free School Meal Application Extension

We would like to remind families that, from September 2026, all children living in households receiving Universal Credit may be eligible for free school meals, although an application must still be made.

The Department for Education has announced a one-off extension to the free school meals eligibility deadline. Applications and eligibility checks can now be completed up to 2 November 2026, and will still be included in relevant funding calculations.

Applying for free school meals not only benefits your child by ensuring they can access a nutritious meal during the school day, but it can also help families save money. In addition, eligible applications provide valuable additional funding to schools, helping us to support students through a range of educational opportunities and interventions.

If you think your child may be eligible, we strongly encourage you to apply as soon as possible using the Nottinghamshire County Council online application service:

https://www.nottinghamshire.gov.uk/education/school-meals/free-school-meals-and-milk

To apply, you will need some basic information, including your National Insurance number (or National Asylum Support Service reference number), date of birth and your child's details.

Kind regards,

Sutton Community Academy
