It was... showtime!!👐 on Wednesday with the children and staff at Norcot Nursery Centre.
Lots of hands on fun and lovely moments.
According to our evaluation sheet, the only thing we could improve on was going there everyday!

A lovely day visiting Nursery and key stage one at Archdeacon Cambridges school in Twickenham today.

The sun was shining for us to deliver their requested 'Drums Around the World' workshop.
So we were banging around their hall all day. ☺️
Taiko drums, Frame drums (including Ocean Drum) Cahon, Dohl and 3 little Udu clay pots, an ancient percussion instrument!
We still weaved in relaxing moments, and the only thing we were short of was time! 🕑
Of course we had our drumming games and plenty of dancing
Fun was had by all.😊

We had nursery 'in the palm of our hand' according to one nursery teacher. Another wanted to change her career- we didn't know we were a career ! 😜

We discovered a talented drummer ! A boy ( I think from reception or year one ) sat on the Cajon and repeated the rhythm we used to demonstrate it- no problem at all 👏

Our message was simple - Drums are made for dancing, the dance is inside us and the drums awaken the dance.

Thank you for inviting us to your school. We hope to see you again soon 😊

This week started with a newish Workshop at WSG. We looked at music and dance from the Innuit people of North Canada ❄️and later in the morning a Rainforest workshop! .☀️

Year 4 worked in groups and performed a drum and dance piece to the rest of the class with a polar animal as their starting point.

Listening skills were tested in our rainforest workshop when the children played an instrument each, that represented a creature from the rainforest frogs, insects and birds.

They then performed to the school a polar and rainforest extravaganza! including throat singing, drumming dancing and an accompanying rainforest band.

⭐ Here is a section of a time lapse film of us preparing a backdrop for the day. One of Angela's many talents is to source different materials and costumes to bring colour, depth and fun ideas to both our workshop and performance. ⭐
