This week, our Skills Bootcamp learners have been gaining valuable hands-on experience with Davison Solutions as trainee painter and decorators. Using our skills centre and inbuilt bungalow, our latest cohort have been prepping surfaces, filling holes and painting - all while building confidence in a real working environment.

At the Academy, we’re truly employer-led. That’s why having committed employer partners on board is so important. They help shape how we train, ensure skills are aligned with real industry needs, and give learners meaningful exposure to the workplace, not just a qualification, but a genuine route into employment.

It’s been brilliant to see the learners’ enthusiasm, commitment and progress as they continue developing practical skills for the future 🙌

Learner Spotlight: David Gardener 👏

Before joining our Skills Bootcamp, David had been unemployed for 6 months. He discovered the course through a job advert on Indeed and decided to take the leap and it completely changed his life. 💪

Even with years of experience in construction, David loved learning new skills he’d never encountered before, from asbestos awareness to workshop techniques. Since completing the bootcamp, he’s landed his dream role, travels the country attending different sites, and has already gained IPAF and Rope Access Level 1 qualifications - even running his own jobs! 🚧⚡

David says: “Find a job you love and you will never work a day in your life. None of this would have been possible without RE:GEN. The staff are helpful, kind, and dedicated.”

⚡️ A day on work experience with our trainees Karl & Mark! 💪

Both learners have been taking part in our Route 2 Retrofit Skills Bootcamp, gaining the knowledge and confidence needed to step into the world of sustainable construction.

Last week, they spent a day with our amazing employer partner EV Solar, putting their new skills into practice in a real-world setting. 🌱🔧
