i’m a firm believer in sharing your failures as well as your successes, so here it is - my very first attempt at tapestry weaving from all the way back in 2014

up until that point i’d only ever woven more sculptural, three-dimensional forms and i thought weaving a flat tapestry would be a walk in the park! how wrong i was…

while i think this first tapestry is kind of cool in an abstract, sculptural kind of way, it very much did not turn out how i wanted. but i persevered - and over the years i honed my tapestry skills until i was confident that i could weave just about anything
