It was good to work with Yisroel who has his own PA company in London and currently uses the Behringer X32 mixer but wanted to understand the workflow better and get into all the key elements of live sound mixing. We trained on both the Allen & Heath SQ6 and the X32 and went through all the routing, effects,EQ, Dynamics and mic’d up drums etc. The Behringer may be an old desk but still packs a lot of punch but the SQ definitely came out the winner. Looking forward to watching his business grow and hearing about future gigs.

Great having Allistair, Will, Kayleigh & Aaron on our 4 day live course and covering so many topics so that all of them were confident mixing on both Analogue and Digital consoles and delving into the effects and dynamic processing. Time flew by and it was great fun and wishing them all the best in their new sound engineering future’s. ,

Really enjoyed teaching Richard & Steve who both have their own AV hire companies and wanted to learn on their desks with one being the Yamaha DM3 and the other being the Allen & Heath QU6. Both great to use and sound really good with the Yamaha using navigation via its large touchscreen where as the Allen & Heath has more surface rotary control, busses etc. A great two days putting both through their paces using the EQ, effects and dynamic processing.

Really enjoyed spending a day teaching the technical team at C3 church in Cheltenham. They have their own worship band that play every weekend and the tech team are responsible for mixing both the main church sound and also the live stream feed. They use a Behringer X32 digital mixer which they wanted to understand better. Although this is quite an old desk it is still very powerful and very popular in lots of churches. We spent the day looking at all the signal flow, busses, effects, EQ, compression, gates and matrix and they all felt alit more confident using it by the end. A big thanks to all the team for making me feel so welcome and a lovely lunch! , ,

First two day live sound engineering course of 2026 and still every one is different. Great to have Jason, Jonathan, Robert & Benjamin keeping me on my toes and absolutely loved working with them. Ran through lots of different topics using both analogue and digital mixers and got a real buzz from their enthusiasm and their stories and tips they can share with me as well. Our next course is our 4 day live one on March 9th and still have a couple of places left on that. I look forward to hearing how they get on over the next few months. , ,

Great to spend a day training Joe who is the lead engineer at his Pentecostal church in Crawley and currently mixes on a Midas M32 and although he has learnt it well there were still areas he wanted to work on such as effects, groups Eq and matrix along with also understanding compressing better. He also wanted to familiarise himself with the Allen & Heath SQ6 as the church are upgrading to these mixers. It was a fun day and he feels a lot more confident using his set up now

A great way to finish the year with our last 4 day live sound engineer training course of 2025. It was lovely to have Geoff, Jack, Steven & James working on both the analogue and digital mixers and keeping me on my toes with all their energy and questions. A great 4 days where we covered a broad range of system and technical live sound engineering topics and roll on 2026 where will be continuing with many more live sound training courses. Thanks all for a great week and all the best for next year and have a good Christmas!

Great to work with Simon Edwards last week who brought in his Allen & Heath QU5 which was great for me as I have not seen it before. Wow what a desk and can pretty much do all what the more expensive SQ range can do. Has 32 channels instead of 48 of SQ but has groups, Matrices, DCA’s, custom layer layout, recording. Lovely large screen and great graphics…. Really good.
Spent the day running through the desk with him and concluded it’s a hell of step up from the older QU range and definitely worth getting.

It was great to work with the team from Moorhen Media who provide equipment and technical services to businesses for conferences and presentations. They use the Behringer X32 compact mixer and brought this along so we spent the day delving into the routing and dynamic processing of the mixer to help improve time alignment, eq and compression for various scenarios. We also looked at using effects for when they do small music guest lounge events and Eq for instruments etc. I really enjoyed the day and look forward to seeing how they incorporate what we did. ,

Enjoyed one to one training this week with Jacob who is new to sound engineering but a musician that wants to get into the industry. A busy couple of days with him covering many key aspects of live sound engineering using both the analogue and digital mixers. The other session was with Giles & Tim who are gigging musicians that are frustrated by issues they experience with their own equipment. When working through with them we were able to look at many reasons for this such as poor monitoring and lack of good signal processing and with did a great day of digital training and they are now looking at upgrading their system with a new mixer and monitoring..
