Hey dancers, a note on safety on the dancefloor. Recently someone accidentally got bashed into by another dancers who sadly didn’t apologise but got rather angry. It wasn’t a kind way of dealing with an accident that can so easily happen on the dancefloor.
Thankfully we are mostly safe and sound but this occasion reminded me how quickly things can turn.
Of course, if it was a serious accident we’d have to stop everything and call emergency or deal with it ourselves but if it was ‘just’ an accidental banging into each other then I highly recommend apologising and or doing the dance of what came up for you in that moment. From both parties. This kind of dance can bring so much healing and depth that isn’t possible when everything is flowing smoothly.
So let’s make art out of accidents and our messy human selves.
What’s your experience of being banged into or accidentally banging into another dancer? Does it bring connection? Separation? Stress?

Hi, thank you for coming to the first Monday night dance!

I played an energetic, passionate first-half set, which was worth it, but we peaked quite early.  My playlist will always be different, so you’re in for a surprise each time. I’m going to try to pace ourselves a bit more for next week so we can last longer ❤️
As I’ve mentioned on social media, I welcome us to move whatever feelings come up, including my own. As long as we don’t hurt ourselves or others, we are good to MOVE and  BREATHE it ALL, TOGETHER. Good stuff.
