💙 The entire Strabane Primary School family is so sad to learn of the untimely passing of Mrs Heather Cummings, a truly wonderful lady whose passion and dedication to early years education touched the lives of so many.

Heather’s love for every preschool child in her care was evident in everything she did. She welcomed each little face with warmth, kindness and a reassuring smile, always striving to give every child the very best start to their educational journey. Her compassion, patience and unwavering commitment to the children and their families made a lasting difference, and she will be remembered with great affection by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Heather’s gentle nature, infectious warmth and genuine care for others enriched our school community, and her legacy will live on in the countless young lives she nurtured and inspired.

Our thoughts, prayers and deepest condolences are with Heather’s family and friends. May they find comfort in knowing how greatly she was loved and how profoundly she will be missed. ❤️

🤍 It is true that the greatest educators never truly leave us. They live on in every life they inspired, every dream they encouraged, and every heart they helped believe in itself, both inside and out of school.

💙🌟 2nd celebratory post of the evening - what a week we have had at Strabane Controlled Primary School! 🌟💙

Today, we were delighted to be awarded the Safer Schools NI Schools and iPad Digital Proficiency Award. This achievement reflects a whole-school commitment involving our pupils, classroom assistants, teachers, staff, and parents working together to promote digital learning and online safety.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us on this journey and helped educate our school community about the importance of internet safety in a world that is constantly evolving and changing. Ensuring our children have the knowledge and skills to stay safe online is more important than ever.

We are especially proud to be among approximately the first 20 primary schools in Northern Ireland to achieve this certification.

Well done to everyone involved – this award belongs to our entire school community. What a fantastic way to end an incredible week and school year! 👏🎉💻

🏆 Strabane Controlled Primary School are the WINNERS of the Primary School category at the 2025–2026 Northern Ireland Schools ICT Excellence Awards, announced last night at The Merchant Hotel!🏆

This prestigious award celebrates schools that are making a real difference for learners through the successful use of digital technology to improve outcomes — and we are incredibly proud that our work has been recognised at the highest level.

✨This achievement reflects the outstanding commitment of our pupils, staff, and wider school community, particularly through initiatives such as our North West Digital Skills Hub, where our children are developing essential digital skills, creativity, and confidence for the future.
