When a renowned pianist you love and adore comes to the neighbourhood. One of those dream days when listening to Mariam Batsashvily's live performance of W. A. Mozart, F. Shubert and F. Liszt on Yamaha CFX and at Pump Rooms! ❤️🎹🎶 The sound takes you far away as the skill of the performer blows your mind. 😍

Coaching Alice on keeping the tempo whilst a rapid change of metre. She is playing The Wind by Chee-Hwa Tan (from A Child's Garden of Verses). Quite a challenging piece for Alice. My voice is breaking and I'm short of breath 😆

Last week was extremely hot but kids stayed really cool and continued working hard with me. Amazing job and well done to Shiva, who recently started her Initial grade repertoire 🎂👌🏻

So many young girls were there in the audience at beautiful performance of few dances from Sergei Dyagilev's productions at Everyman Theatre.
We watched Ethereal Les Silphidas ( Chopiniana originally) featuring Chopin's Waltzes, Mazurkas and Preludes. All were delightfully performed live by a Japanese pianist. Then it was the dance of Scheherazade from Rimsky Korsakov's ballet and magnificent The Firebird (or L'Oiseau de feu) which in 1910 was a revolutionary ballet produced for the Ballets Russes in Paris. It launched the career of composer Igor Stravinsky and featured groundbreaking choreography by Mikhail Fokine that seamlessly blended Russian folk tales, folkloric dances, and classical ballet.
We watched it performed by Birmingham national ballet. Young and talanted dancers and breath taking performance 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Ari still likes playing when standing but we had success with using the bench too! 👏🏻
She is learning to concentrate on both, notes and movement which is a hard work when playing with left hand 😍

Sophie's having a meltdown because of sound sensitivity, ear covers are life savers! Theory tasks weren't clicking, but then we switched gears to rhythm games and it all fell into place. Ear covers came off later, and she was rocking and smiling ! 🪇🥁💖
