Bluebell Children's Nurseries Our three friendly Children's Nurseries, providing the very highest quality childcare for Eastbourne and Heathfield We have three nurseries in East Sussex.

We provide the very highest quality childcare in nurseries which are friendly, fun, secure and stimulating. Your child’s happiness, well-being and safety are our absolute priorities. Our two nurseries in Eastbourne are Bluebell Barn and Bluebell Hill. Our nursery Bluebell Wood is based in Heathfield. The nurseries are in locations which have been chosen to be convenient for the town centres and al

l the main commuter routes into and out of the towns. We welcome babies and children from 3 months to 5 years of age, 5 days a week from 8am until 6pm all year round, except for Bank Holidays and Christmas. For parents who have to start their day early, we can open as early as 7.30 am. Children can attend full or part-time, or for a combination of morning and afternoon sessions. We love active involvement from parents, and we welcome parents dropping in at any time to talk to the staff or just to see how their children are getting on.

What a fun week with wild beach!!

We’ve had lots of fun learning through play this week! We’ve loved playing circle time games such as What’s the Time, Mr Wolf? and getting our bodies moving with singing and dancing.

Our interest in patterns has continued, inspiring us to create shapes, patterns and artwork using natural resources we found around us🐚

We even had the opportunity to explore something new by trying shop-bought seaweed!

One of the questions I'm asked most often is:

"My child can't read yet... are they ready for school?"

The truth is, children don't need to arrive at school already reading or writing. Reception is where those skills begin to develop.

What really helps children settle into school is confidence, independence, communication and emotional resilience. These are the foundations we focus on every day at Bluebell because they're the skills that help children feel secure in a brand-new environment.

Over the coming weeks, I'll be sharing practical ways you can help prepare your child at home before school starts.

The children enjoyed exploring the beach, discovering different textures, colours and natural treasures along the water. We found some beautiful pieces of seaweed, collected stones and even used them to create our very own smiley faces! 😊🪨

On our adventure walk the other morning the children spotted a newt and some cows in the field!!

The children also spotted the Dotto train and some even shared with us their adventures of being on the Dotto train 🚂🤩

An adventure walk is good for the children because it helps across physical, cognitive and social development through immersive outdoor learning
