Little explorers πππ±
Muddy hands, happy faces and a lot of outdoor adventures at Forest school today. Our little explorers had a wonderful time helping to create a wildlife pond, splashing in muddy puddles and discovering nature in the garden. We spotted worms, caterpillars and even a toad, while also planting flowers to help support our bees and local wildlife!
The children loved investigating, exploring and learning through play while building their confidence, curiosity and teamwork skills.

Outdoor Yoga in the Sunshine π§π½ββοΈβοΈ
Our children enjoyed taking part in a calm and engaging yoga session in our nursery garden, making the most of the warm, sunny weather. They followed simple poses, stretched their bodies, and practised slowing down and focusing their attention in a relaxed outdoor setting. Afterwards they explored the rest of our forest school area, making potions and searching for wildlife.
This activity supports physical development by improving balance, coordination, and flexibility, while also encouraging mindfulness and self-regulation. Outdoor yoga helps children build body awareness, concentration, and a sense of calm, contributing positively to their overall wellbeing.π±

Easter Egg Hunt in the Garden π£π·
Our nursery garden was filled with excitement as the children took part in our Easter egg hunt! Our children loved exploring the outdoor space, searching high and low to find hidden eggs, sharing their discoveries with friends, and celebrating each little find along the way. It was a lovely way to enjoy the fresh air while embracing the joy of the season.
This activity supported our childrenβs physical development as they moved around the garden, as well as their problem-solving and observation skills while searching for hidden eggs. It also encouraged teamwork, turn-taking, and communication as the children shared the experience together, creating lots of happy memories π°π

πΏ Forest School Adventure at the Beck πΏ
Today, our children enjoyed exploring the local beck through paddling and play. They experimented with sticks to see what floats and sinks, watched how the current moved objects, and worked together to pass sticks across the water. They also searched for signs of wildlife and created animal prints in the sand.
This experience supported curiosity and early scientific thinking, helping our children explore cause and effect. It also encouraged teamwork, communication, and a growing awareness of the natural environment through hands-on outdoor learning.

Celebrating Chinese New Year ππ¨π³π₯’
Last week, we had a great day celebrating Chinese New Year! We read books about Chinese culture and tasted Chinese food for lunch.
Trying new foods at a young age helps children expand their palate and discover new flavours, while learning about different cultures helps them discover new traditions, broaden their understanding, and develop a love for exploring the world around them. π
