In recognition of the unparalleled commitment of its faculty to excellence in research and innovation, NUST conferred the Best Researcher and Innovator (BRAIN) Awards upon the high-performing researchers and innovators. The distinguished awardees demonstrated exceptional capabilities in securing national and international funding, conducting cutting-edge research, producing high-quality publications, and creating impactful inventions during the academic year 2022-23. Federal Minister for Science & Technology Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui graced the event as chief guest, and presented cash prizes and certificates to over 100 awardees in 108 different categories. The annual awards are a glowing tribute to the outstanding faculty for their ingenuity and impact on advancing knowledge and driving innovation in their respective fields.

I feel delighted to have contributed to and been associated with the launch of this exciting international initiative by NUST and Staffordshire University, which pertains to the establishment of the Creative AI Lab (CAIL) with nodes in two universities, thanks to the joint efforts of colleagues from both institutions.
