๐ป Reception's Wonderful Day at Crewe Sunflower Farm ๐ป
Our Reception children had a fantastic day exploring Crewe Sunflower Farm as part of their learning about the lifecycles of plants and animals.
Throughout the day, the children discovered how plants grow and learned about the important role of pollinators in helping flowers thrive. They explored beautiful wildflowers, learned about honey production and pollination, and gained a deeper understanding of the natural world around them.
The farm animals were a particular highlight! The children enjoyed seeing the cows and their young, as well as feeding and gently stroking the chickens. These hands-on experiences helped bring our learning about animal lifecycles to life.
After a busy morning of exploring, everyone enjoyed a picnic lunch in the sunshine before having lots of fun playing on the farm.
The children were curious, enthusiastic and respectful throughout the visit, asking thoughtful questions and embracing every learning opportunity. We are so proud of them and know they have created some wonderful memories while developing their understanding of the world around them.
Well done, Reception! โ๏ธ๐๐ฅ๐๐ป

๐ฟ๐ข Welly Wednesday Fun! ๐ข๐ฟ
Today, Reception took our learning outdoors and turned nature into our art studio! ๐จ๐ธ
We focused on our Artist of the Month, Georgia OโKeeffe, who was famous for painting flowers on a large scale and exploring every detail of the flower head and petals in all their glory. ๐บ๐
Inspired by her beautiful work, we carefully observed flowers around us and created our own stunning masterpieces in the style of Georgia OโKeeffe. ๐ผ๐๏ธ The children showed fantastic creativity, observation skills, and attention to detail.
Take a look at our amazing artwork โ we are so proud of our talented young artists! ๐๐๐จ

๐โจ This week, we were delighted to welcome our latest Secret Storyteller into Reception!
Esmae's mum joined us to share the wonderful story *Room on the Broom* by Julia Donaldson. The children loved listening and joining in, especially when we wondered, "Is there room on the broom for a dog like me?" ๐ถ๐งน
A huge thank you to Esmae's mum for spending time with us and making story time so special. Reception class thoroughly enjoyed every minute!
Now the excitement begins again as we look forward to discovering who our next Secret Storyteller will be... ๐๐
