🎬If your young person loves movies, TV, gaming or storytelling, these GCSEs can be a brilliant way for them to learn in a creative, engaging and confidence building way. 🎮

Learners explore how films and games are made, how camera work, sound, editing and design shape the stories we connect with, and how media influences the way we see the world. They look at advertising, magazines, online platforms, music videos and TV, learning how audiences are targeted and how different groups are represented. And with practical tasks like storyboarding, scripting or designing their own media products, it’s a brilliant option for visual learners, gamers, creators and anyone who enjoys understanding the media they use every day.

We will study towards the Eduqas specification, building their portfolio as we go and with a view to building a solution to completing exams.

What alternatives or comparisons to GCSE's are available?

If you’re exploring home education or looking for a pathway that actually works for your young person, it’s completely normal to wonder what qualifications they can achieve and whether GCSEs are the only option. The good news is… they’re not!

Many young people thrive with Functional Skills instead of GCSEs. These are nationally recognised qualifications in English and Maths, available at Level 1 and Level 2, and they focus on the skills young people genuinely need day to day. No extended theory, no overloaded content, just clear, practical learning that builds confidence.

Enterprise provides the foundation knowledge of how to develop business ideas and what you need to think about 🤔 With youth employment opportunities being a hot topic at the moment, this course can provide young people with the vision of owning their own business, being their own boss, doing things their way....perfect for our home educated children that already have these values! 🥰
