Our nursery children have had a fantastic week exploring ‘What the Ladybird Heard at the Seaside!’🐞🌊
They have loved diving into the seaside adventure — listening carefully for clues just like the ladybird and retelling the story with lots of excitement. We brought the seaside to life with sandy small‑world play, sparkling shells, and ocean creatures.
The children also enjoyed making their own foam ‘ice‑cream sundaes’, choosing toppings and talking about flavours, and they got wonderfully creative decorating colourful mermaid tails with sequins, glitter, and patterns.
✨A magical week full of storytelling, sensory fun, and seaside sparkle! ✨

✨ Year 4 Update! ✨
This week, Year 4️⃣ have thrown themselves into the magical world of A Midsummer Night’s Dream 🎭. Using drama, they stepped into the shoes of Shakespeare’s characters and worked hard to untangle the wonderfully tricky web of relationships in the play. As Egeus, they spoke Shakespeare’s words with real emotion and expressive gestures while addressing Duke Theseus — such impressive confidence and creativity! 🌟
In science 🔬, the children began exploring states of matter. They learned the key characteristics of solids, liquids and gases, then brought their learning to life by acting as particles to show how each state behaves. Lots of movement, lots of learning! 💡✨
We’re so proud of their enthusiasm and imagination this week — well done, Year 4! 🌈👏

Reception have a fantastic first day back to school! 💛
🇦🇺 Our story this week is The Koala Who Could 🐨 We have enjoyed reading this story and then learning all about Australia. We have found Australia on a map and compared it to the United Kingdom. 🇦🇺🇬🇧 We have walked around Australia, exploring the differences we can spot to Talke Pits 🗺️ such as the weather, roads and houses 🏡 🏝️☔️
We have also practiced writing postcards from Australia ✍️📝 and colouring in the Australian flag 🇦🇺 as well as thinking about the types of clothes we might wear on a holiday to Australia 🧳 and the different habitats that we might encounter 🌊🌳🏝️🏜️

🏫 Attendance Update – Week 32 📆
Our whole school attendance this week was 93.7%, meaning we didn't meet our target, unfortunately!
However.... 👀
✅ Well done to Year 2 (98.8%), Year 1 (98.4%), and Reception (97.2%), who all hit the target this week — great effort from these classes.
💛 Let’s aim to improve after half term—especially with a shorter four-day week ahead, there’s a great opportunity to boost our overall attendance.
