Our 2026/27 cross country team have completed their first race of the season at Packmoor Academy tonight.

They displayed all of our school values and competed with great sportsmanship 💜💛

The results were impressive and I’m really proud of all of the runners!

🦁🐒 Year 2 Visit to Knowsley Safari Park! 🐘🦒

Our Year 2 children had a roarsome day at Knowsley Safari on Thursday! 🦁💜💛

The children enjoyed a fantastic day of hands-on learning as they discovered more about different animals, their habitats and how they live. 🌍🐾

They also took part in an exciting animal workshop, where they had the opportunity to develop their knowledge and ask questions. 🔎🐒

To finish off a brilliant day, the children enjoyed watching the amazing sea lion show! 🦭🌊

A huge well done to all of our Year 2 children for representing Team St Mary’s so wonderfully! 💜💛

🌊 Year 5 Trip to Anglesey! 🌊

Our Year 5 children had a wonderful day exploring Anglesey as part of their learning about coastal erosion. 🏖️💜💛

The children had the opportunity to explore the coastline and learn all about how coastal erosion occurs and the different ways in which our coastlines can change over time.

They discovered how waves, weather and the movement of water can gradually wear away rocks and cliffs, as well as exploring the impact this can have on coastal areas. 🌊🪨

It was fantastic to see the children putting their classroom learning into practice through this hands-on experience. 📚✨

A huge well done to Year 5 for representing our school so brilliantly throughout the day! 💜💛

🗳️ School Council Elections! 🗳️

The children have been busy using our very own ‘Polling Station’ this week! 🗳️💜💛

Each year group across KS1 and KS2 will be taking part in the election process and casting their vote for the children they would like to represent them on our School Council. 👏

This is a fantastic opportunity for our children to learn about democracy, voting and having their voices heard. 🗣️✨

We can’t wait to find out who our new School Council representatives will be! 🌟

🚦 Year 3 Road Safety! 🚦

A huge well done to our fantastic Year 3 children who successfully completed their ‘Stepping Out’ course! 👏💜💛

The children took part in practical learning all about how to cross the road safely and the importance of staying safe when out and about. 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️🛑

We are incredibly proud that every child completed the course and demonstrated fantastic knowledge of road safety! 🌟

To celebrate their achievement, each child received a certificate and a pencil. 🏆✏️

🏔️ Year 4 Trip to Snowdon! 🏔️

What an incredible day of hands-on learning for our Year 4 children as they explored Snowdon and put their geography learning into practice! 💜💛

As part of their learning about mountains in the UK, the children had the opportunity to identify and spot different features of a mountain during their trip. They also:

🗻 Took part in a mountain-themed quiz
✏️ Sketched the stunning mountain landscape
🌦️ Compared the weather at different heights
🚂 Travelled by train to the summit of the mountain
👀 Put their geographical knowledge to the test through real-life exploration

It was fantastic to see the children learning beyond the classroom and experiencing geography first-hand. 🌍✨

A huge well done to all of our Year 4 children! Staff shared that every child behaved impeccably and represented our school wonderfully throughout the trip. We are incredibly proud of you! 👏🏼💜💛
