Dougie Mac Dementia Cafe

Nine Year 6 children spent the afternoon supporting adults with arts and crafts, and even entertained everyone with two songs and dances from our recent Y5/6 production - Shakespeare Rocks. Our pupils demonstrated our school values of compassion, friendship, love, hope, respect and joy. We are so proud of them.

🌻 A Huge Thank You from Dougie Mac! 🌻
Today we were delighted to welcome Samantha from Dougie Mac into school, where she led a special celebration assembly to recognise the incredible fundraising achievements of our whole school community.

We are so proud to share that our recent Dance-a-thon raised an amazing £2,811.75 for Dougie Mac! This fantastic total has earned Forsbrook CE Primary School Gold Leaf Status on the Dougie Mac Supporter Recognition Tree. A gold leaf engraved with our school's name will be proudly displayed for the next 12 months before being returned to us as a keepsake.

Samantha thanked our pupils, staff, families and friends for their enthusiasm, generosity and community spirit. She spoke about how our fundraising will help Dougie Mac continue to provide specialist care and support to local people and their families when they need it most.

We were also recognised for supporting the Bag It, Bring It campaign by collecting 80 charity bags, which could generate around £3,200 in retail value for the charity.

The celebrations don't stop there! Later this year, one of our staff members will be taking on a charity skydive for Dougie Mac. Fundraising for this exciting challenge will begin in September, and we look forward to sharing more details with you then. We hope our wonderful school community will get behind this incredible challenge once again!

A huge thank you to everyone who sponsored, donated, took part, volunteered and supported our fundraising events. Every contribution has helped make a real difference, and we couldn't be prouder of what we have achieved together.

Today, the children in Year 1 had a wonderful visit to St Peter's Church, where the fantastic St Peter's team brought the life of the disciple Peter to life through a range of engaging, hands-on activities that explored the story through the senses.
The children created colourful fish before trying their hand at "fishing," took part in a hopscotch activity that retold Peter's life journey, and made symbolic keys to represent Jesus giving Peter the keys to continue His work. They also experienced a beautiful silent storytelling session, encouraging them to reflect and listen carefully, before creating their own stained-glass cross-inspired artwork.
A huge thank you to the wonderful team at St Peter's Church for providing such an inspiring, interactive and memorable experience. The children thoroughly enjoyed every activity and learned so much about Peter's life and his important role in the Christian faith.

The children in Year 1 have had a lovely day today! We enjoyed learning about holidays from the past through storytelling and role play, helping us to imagine what seaside holidays were like many years ago.
The children also got creative by making clay models of baskets full of food for the Lighthouse Keeper, inspired by our story. They showed great imagination and worked carefully to add lots of detail to their creations.
We have had a wonderful day of learning, creativity, and fun. We hope you enjoy hearing all about it at home!

🏅We are absolutely delighted to announce that we have achieved the Gold School Games Mark for 2025-2026!

This achievement recognises our huge commitment to sports, physical activity, and healthy lifestyles. It also celebrates our dedication to keeping all children active, ensuring equal access to sports for everyone, and offering a wide range of exciting activities throughout the year.

A huge thank you to our amazing children for their energy and sportsmanship, to our dedicated staff for delivering fantastic PE and clubs, and to the wider Forsbrook family for your constant support and for making physical activity such a vital, joyful part of school life!

As our Year 6 children wrap up their SATs week, we want to share a huge heartfelt thank you to Rev. Jonathan, Sophie and the St. Peter’s team for their incredible support.

Every morning this week, the children were greeted with more than just a delicious breakfast. They were met with warmth and smiles that calmed those morning nerves, providing the essential fuel for both their bodies and minds.

This wonderful gesture filled our Year 6s with the courage and determination needed to walk into those rooms and simply do their best. We are so blessed to have such a supportive community right on our doorstep.

Also, a special thank you to the members of the St Peter’s community who donated £5 to sponsor a child’s breakfast.

Pre-School and Reception had a wonderful time learning all about Fire Safety. 🚒
They learnt how to call 999 📞 and ‘stop, drop and roll’ in an emergency.
The amazing Fire Safety Education Co-Ordinator Chris Powell also expressed how important it is to check our smoke alarms regularly and recommended checking them every month.
